Purchased on sale for 78k. Returned after 3 days. Externally, the laptop is excellent, 2 cm 2 kg. But: The laptop looks great externally, 2 cm thick, 2 kg. Mines 38-40 megahashes out of the box without optimizations. Around 4300 RUB/month in July 2021. Bad thermal management and it's impossible to adjust with native or third-party software. Fans engage at 50°C CPU. On Mac Pro 2014 and iMac 2017, you don't hear the fans up to 75°C (which is a plus for comfort). Minimum fan speed is 2400 RPM (25 dB) in a browser. On Apple devices, it's 1200-1600, they're inaudible (below 20 dB) even with 50 tabs in Chrome. Undervolting is completely blocked, nothing in BIOS, or with any software. Disabling Turbo Boost doesn't help, just using the laptop in Chrome (Twitch, YouTube, Binance +30-40 tabs) - reaches 32 decibels and Asus insists on keeping the processor at 55°C. 3060 RTX shows performance at the level of 1050 mobile on the laptop screen, when connecting an external monitor, the performance nearly doubles and works as a proper 3060 mobile should. All this is shown in tests. Working from the laptop screen - simultaneous operation of Intel XE integration 50% + discrete 50% accordingly results in 1050 mobile performance. BIOS and drivers are up to date, BIOS no longer has the option to select discrete/integrated. Maybe they'll fix it later. The processor is 35W, but it works at 53W until the discrete GPU turns on. After a 3D test, the CPU goes to a 35W limit (5200 and 6300 points in Cinebench R23 respectively). Unstable refresh rate with external 4K monitor - 32" at 60Hz, HDMI 2.0 cable as it should be. Upon rebooting the laptop, the monitor shows the standard 60Hz. If you run a 3D test, then the refresh rate drops to 20-30, the image tears, and it stays that way until the next reboot of the laptop. Tried 3 HDMI cables. When connecting the monitor to iMac 4K 2017 via Thunderbolt, everything is stable.  959311: use Asus TUF Dash F15 FX516PM less than month |
Bought almost a year ago for 34k hryvnia. I use a laptop with additional cooling and the temperature suits me, but it's noisy pzdts (I play with headphones so it doesn't bother me). It is quite powerful, but it has its own nuances. 1) bluetooth and usb dump under load (honorably speaking, this is a Windows problem), I fixed this problem by buying wired headphones and the problem was gone. 2) this is how they made the image output via usb c, I have 4k Monique at 60Hz and support for 60 fps is only through the display port. I took a cable display port to usb c and in this case only integrated graphics can work and you will not have any 3060. This made me very upset (I bought a cable for 20 € and could not connect it) if you want the card to work - only hdmi. Pretty bad screen for photo processing and the like, but it will do for games. Vin is also compact. You can set the maximum graphics in games, enough for processing photos and videos. It does not work to transfer the picture on the line when ucb c is connected. The laptop is noisy, but if you have gaming headphones, it won't bother you that much.
About the USB ports, having one on the left is good, but having the other two on the right is very inconvenient. I used to have headphones with a Mini Jack, and after buying new headphones, I had to move to the right side because the headphones with the sound card took the USB on the left, and every time I play CS, I bump into the mouse’s USB.
And when the third port is occupied by a webcam, there's nowhere to plug anything else.
Instead of such a large battery, they could have made even better cooling because, in my opinion, it doesn't handle +30°C well.
(At the moment of writing, the laptop has been in repair for 16 days due to my own fault, and if something happens to your motherboard, the replacement cost is 44,000 UAH.)
