Does a full frame make a difference? Is it worth buying a full-frame camera?Do I need to spend money on an expensive full frame or is it better to buy a cropped camera?..

At this price it is much better to buy any camera with a 23x15 matrix and save money.
 5 July 2017
Any cheapest modern camera with a 23x15 matrix will beat this model. And it costs twice as much... There is no point in buying, at least at that price, except perhaps because of the size.
Small, good glass for the hole.
For such a matrix the price is inadequate. But if you don’t pay attention to this, it will do for purely amateur filming.
good model, I liked it
 29 March 2017
I used to have a Canon A650 IS, which I bought very inexpensively for the occasion. This is an old camera that came to us back in 2008 and was sold for quite a long time. The camera is unremarkable unless you know what it can do with the alternative CHDK firmware. That’s when it turns out that she can shoot in 10-bit RAW and in general can do a lot more. But by 2016, it was completely outdated, both morally and physically (the matrix was hooked) and it was necessary to look for a replacement. I’ve been eyeing Canon G-series cameras for a long time, and I saved some money and bought this model.
The camera is small, I would even say very small for a one-inch matrix. At the same time, they managed to stuff a fairly good and fairly fast lens with a three-fold optical zoom into it. Yes, fans of 40-50x zooms are passing by, this camera is not for them. But the matrix here is very modern, with excellent detail and low noise levels. Previously, I couldn’t dream of shooting at ISO 3200, but here it can be done. Yes, the noise reduction filter must be turned on and this removes the smallest details, but the frames still look great and can be easily printed on A3 format. Autofocus is fast and tenacious, there are no complaints about it. There are Wifi and NFC modules, which has become a standard nowadays. Makes cool FullHD video with a frame rate of 60 frames per second.
All traditional Canon controls have been ruined and converted to a touch screen. Honestly, I would prefer the good old direct action buttons and not this touch-sensitive crap. But, once you get the hang of it, you can do pretty well with it.

A compact with an index of the G9X model fits comfortably in a small palm. But despite the miniature dimensions (98x58x31 mm), it hides a remarkable potential.

Inch matrix

The camera sensor has an increased physical size (1") compared to most members of the compact family. Matrixes of this format absorb more light, giving good results when shooting in low light conditions. Add here also a 5-axis optical image stabilization system — and the output we get excellent image quality without lubrication and movement from hand shaking, both in photo and video shooting.

Touch control

The built-in lens, which operates in the range of focal lengths of 24-82 mm with a floating aperture of f / 2.0-4.9, is completely hidden in the camera body in the off state. For sighting on the back of the compact, a 3-inch screen is provided. Touch input allows you to set any shooting parameters by tapping on the display. Traditional push-button control with many keys for setting parameters is also present.

battery life

The transfer of footage and remote control of the shutter release can be carried out by connecting mobile gadgets (smartphone, tablet, etc.) to the camera via Wi-Fi and NFC wireless networks. Their activity must be controlled so as not to be left without a battery charge at the most inopportune moment — the Canon PowerShot G9X battery with a capacity of 1250 mAh lasts for 200-220 shots, after which the energy reserves must be replenished.

Filming control

46 filter variations and 17 preset scene modes are designed to minimize post-processing of footage and make shots more attractive. Well, full manual control of the shooting process allows you to put aside a bulky DSLR and use only a compact in everyday cases. If the capabilities of the model are not enough for someone, we recommend paying attention to the top prosumer from the same series represented by the Canon PowerShot G5X, additionally equipped with a viewfinder, a hot shoe and a faster lens (f / 1.8-2.8).

Reference. Prosyumerka is an advanced camera aimed at meeting the needs of photo enthusiasts. This class of cameras includes compact cameras with more features than digital cameras, but at the same time less advanced features compared to DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.
