A powerful ultrazoom with a 50x optical zoom replaces a whole galaxy of interchangeable lenses for different types of shooting. Possessing the dimensions of a small SLR, the Canon PowerShot SX540 HS reveals its potential in long-range photography — in terms of the equivalent of a full frame, the range of focal lengths of the camera lens ranges from 24 to 1200 mm. The maximum aperture also creeps up with a change in the focal length (f / 3.4-6.5), however, its disadvantage when shooting handheld is partially compensated by the optical image stabilization system built into the lens.

The photographer has the right to choose the sensitivity value for photo and video shooting in the ISO 80-3200 range. In addition, the DIGIC 6 processor provides the camera with a rate of fire of 5.9 fps. There is no viewfinder on board the model, but you can use a smartphone in its role, for which Wi-Fi and NFC wireless modules are included in the design of the ultrazoom.

good model, I liked it

This camera was begged from me as a gift by my 14-year-old son. His age is now difficult, transitional, and his passion for photography happened very timely. I would also call the camera transitional. This is no longer a soap dish, but far from an advanced semi-professional model. Such a middle class for those who are just learning to shoot.

Specifications are very important, but the feel of the camera in your hands is equally important. This camera fits perfectly in the hand, the body is ergonomic, plastic, but not smooth, but textured. The control is traditional Canon, in the chest of drawers is our old A520, which I bought in my youth, and so the principle and layout of the buttons and rotary knobs remained the same. There is also a pop-up flash, its power is small, but you can safely shoot from three or four meters. The lens here is interesting, with a powerful 50x ultrazoom. It's interesting, but its stabilization is so good that at this magnification you can safely take pictures handheld. But only in good light, of course. Writes decent quality video in 1920x1080 resolution. The processor in it is so powerful that it manages to write as much as 60 frames / sec. There is a wireless connection, video and USB output.

The matrix has as much as 20+ megapixels, but, by and large, this figure is inflated by two to two and a half times that way. I believe in the power of modern technology, but don't tell me that with a centimeter-sized matrix, you can easily get a frame with an honest resolution of 5184x3888. The megapixel scam performed by marketers continues and there is no end in sight. For those who have doubts, just zoom in on a single pixel shot of this camera and some Canon EOS 7D with the same number of megapixels, but a really large matrix. Happiness is not in megapixels, not at all in them. The battery is not very strong, especially in cold weather.
