Fire-Maple FMS-X1

The gas burner of the Chinese brand Fire-Maple is positioned as an affordable alternative to the models of the reputable American company Jetboil.

Cooking system

The Fire-Maple FMS-X1 comes with an aluminium cooking pot. It holds a little more than one liter of water (with a reserve for seething), which, usually, is enough for 1 – 2 tourists. The kettle has an integrated heat exchange system with a perimeter frame that protects the flame from the wind and eliminates the need for additional windscreens. In addition, a removable handle, a neoprene case and a heat-resistant lid are offered.

If necessary, it is permissible to use other dishes, but with a built-in heat exchange system. Otherwise, you need to purchase a universal Pot Holder adapter.

The container is also used for storing and transporting the burner and gas cylinders. Inside are standard cartridges of 230 grams (with a burner) and 450 grams (without it). In addition, the system comes with a bowl and a mesh bag to protect against scratches. The total weight of the kit is slightly over 500 grams.

Efficient burner

The Fire-Maple FMS-X1 burner itself features a threaded connection that provides compatibility with a variety of conventionally threaded gas cylinders. And through the adapter it is possible to connect collet models. With a 450 mL bottle, the device will work up to 270 minutes, and it takes approximately 3.5 minutes to boil one liter of water in a complete pot.

A piezoelectric element will allow you to do without matches, and a simple regulator will regulate the power of the flame.

The Fire-Maple FMS-X1 is a great choice for reheating or cooking in the field. In the model range of the manufacturer there are also updated versions of the burner, for example, FMS-X2. It costs more, but it comes with an adapter for any dishes and a stand for a cylinder.
