The Swiss brand Franke has been producing household appliances and accessories for over 100 years, delighting consumers with an excellent balance of design and functionality. The FTC 612 is a range hood for spacious kitchens at a very competitive price of $85.

Practical design

The device looks stylish and modern in the interior. The durable metal body is painted in brown, stainless steel or white, making it easy to match the hood to the colour of the furniture.

Grease traps made of aluminium retain dirt well, are easy to clean, and are not afraid of corrosion. To switch functions, a slider is used that moves easily and is strong enough not to break for a long time.

The area above the stove is illuminated by two 28W halogen lamps. The power of their luminous flux is similar to two 40 W incandescent lamps, but the resource is twice as high.

Powerful pull

The hood is traditionally two-mode. If it is not possible to bring the ventilation duct outside or into the shaft, you can install carbon filters (not included) and use the device in recirculation mode.

Works FTC 612 on one engine, but 3 speeds. At maximum speed, the noise level is frankly not comfortable — 67 dB, and this is with a capacity of only 420 m3 / h, which is fully enough for a kitchen up to 10 m2 in size. For comparison, in the Elica Elite 26 IX/A/60 model, the performance is much higher — 900 m3 / h, and the noise level is as much as 6 dB less.

In summary, we can say that the Franke FTC 612 hood is a good choice for owners of apartment kitchens. It is inexpensive. Pulls well. Well, the noise will have to endure.
