The Fujifilm 18mm f/1.4 XF R LM WR Fujinon adopts a 9-blade aperture design, the optical design of the lens has 15 elements in 9 groups (including three aspherical lenses and one extra-low dispersion glass).

The focus group inside the prime lens body is driven by the quiet linear motor of the autofocus system. The model is equipped with a diaphragm change ring with an automatic position to protect against accidental shift. The lens is focused on sharpness from a distance of 20 cm.
