my previous comment was mine, I really liked the watch - but it died. Suddenly, the battery started lasting only 2 days max instead of two weeks. I sent it for service - found water inside, nearly everything was ruined. I should mention that I never took the watch off my wrist, whether I was swimming, in the sauna, or repairing a car, it didn't matter much - it didn't suffer too badly due to the design. Replacing the battery is very expensive, as is the repair, mostly because it's hard to disassemble. I recommend everyone check out the Fenix series models, where you can open the case yourself at home (screws instead of a glued case). functionality is almost on par with top solutions at nearly half their price. There's a full feminine color scheme, and the dimensions are perfectly suited for a woman's hand. There may not be many female geeks, but those who are will truly appreciate the device. Garmin Pay, an excellent app, I won't repeat myself. they died after a year of intense use. According to the service center, there was just a bunch of water inside, everything was completely corroded. As they said at the service center, the buttons are not designed for pressing underwater. I used them to time my swims, which is probably where the trouble started. They still work, but the battery life is now only 2 days. Since the watch is disposable (no screws on top, non-disassemblable, glued together), the local service center charges a lot for repairs. It's easier to switch to another model. ![]() |
after literally 2-3 days of use, you can form a first impression of the device, having switched from Xiaomi Mi Band 2, there's definitely a basis for comparison! To put it briefly - this device is for geeks, and you might need to tinker a bit to customize it to your preferences. However, it comes with a quite smart initial set of functions and convenient settings, almost everything can be adjusted and quite precisely at that. The choice was between the Fenix 3 Sapphire and this one, chosen for its slimness - though at the expense of battery life. If your wrist isn't very large, this seems to be the best option, but if you prefer larger watches, you definitely need to go with the Fenix series. I was sure that a touchscreen would be better, but I suspect that the menu, which was designed for buttons (and it's the same as in the Fenix models), is actually better managed with buttons—again, about the settings. Overall, Garmin really put in the effort and made some excellent devices with almost no alternatives, but they won't suit everyone - not by a long shot, and I didn't consider them as luxury watches, though there aren't many replacement options either! Functionality for active people, primarily athletes, but also leaning towards gadget enthusiasts. There are many settings, very diverse, and suited for almost anyone. There's even an activity type "yard work!" Plus, the legendary transflective screen lasts a long time compared to devices that need daily charging (it's absurd, but almost everyone experiences this). It also features a massive internal app store, with more than 100 customizable watch faces, and has an Uber app, which is really cool (shows when the car arrives). the price, even if bought at the lowest price in Ukraine, makes this an expensive device. However, everything is relative. For example, compared to the Garmin Fenix 3/5, it's a cheap device with essentially the same functions. But compared to the Xiaomi Band 2, it's very expensive, considering, yes, Xiaomi does less and calculates inaccurately, but come on—it's ten times the price! Furthermore, the mobile app seems to have been made by a clumsy amateur; using it properly is very difficult. Synchronization is lengthy and complicated (talking about initial setup and software updates). But on the bright side, the PC software and cable synchronization are a pleasure to use, made by a truly normal and adequate person. Also, Garmin Pay doesn't work here, and the device lacks an NFC chip, which would greatly help and add convenience to transactions. The watch is always on you, so you don't have to think about where your wallet or card is. Another point is that some settings are only available on the watch and others only on the PC (like detailed watch face settings). The GPS isn't fully functional and takes a long time to connect, making it inconvenient to use. By the time it connects, you could already be done with your run. ![]() |
This is not Garmin, but SHITMIN Considering all the drawbacks, there are very few merits. Glitchy. It seemed like everything that could glitch did. I was able to listen to music through them for exactly one month. And that's it. They glitched. Sometimes they would sync with the phone, and other times they wouldn't. One week they sync, the next month they don't. The case and strap turned yellow. GPS is a big problem. Having to wait 15 minutes to catch a signal in the city is too much. In that time, you could already go for a run and come back home))) They died after two years of use. I had to charge them twice a day!!! With all additional functions turned off. They were kept in Navionics for 2 months, and unfortunately, they couldn't help. And the battery is not the problem. The watch is disposable. But for a disposable item, the price is too high. ![]() |
Garmin-branded wearables are preferred by both advanced amateur athletes and true pros, combining a serious arsenal of fitness features with a set of typical smartwatch features.
Transflective display
The Vivoactive 3 watch model has got a round dial with a screen size of 1.2" (if such a measure is applicable to the round shape of the display). It is made using transflective technology, thanks to which the data is perfectly readable in the sun, and energy consumption is minimized. The picture is displayed on the screen in a resolution of 240x240 pixels, and each type of training in the settings can be marked with its own colour.
Activity types
Determination of the type of activity and recording of training parameters are assigned both to the shoulders of various external sensors connected to Garmin Vivoactive 3 via wireless interfaces, and by reading data from sensors on board the watch, including an accelerometer, heart rate monitor, altimeter and a GPS module for tracking the current location and drawing track jogging or cycling. The electronic "brains" of the model collect data on the usual and atypical training modes (workout, martial arts, gymnastics), and also know how to track the number of sets in strength exercises.
Extended functionality
Based on the readings of the heart rate monitor, the watch determines the level of stress and, in case of excessive excitement, offers to perform breathing exercises. A separate sensor measures the body's oxygen uptake. In everyday tasks, the wearable gadget performs the functions of showing the time and duplicating on-screen notifications of calls and notifications from applications from a connected smartphone. Unfortunately, there is no flexible settings for notifications in the options menu.
All "salt"
The model has nothing of its own memory, so it is not suitable for storing musical compositions that could be listened to during training using wireless headphones. But it doesn’t matter, because the whole “salt” of the watch lies in measuring numerous parameters of physical activity, water resistance of the case and long battery life(13 hours in continuous GPS monitoring mode and up to 7 days in standard use mode). The icing on the cake is the quick-release straps, which allows you to customize the appearance of the model according to your mood, and the built-in NFC chip for using the watch in the Garmin Pay payment system.
