The best microphone possible on this planet recorded the sound of my old headphones, and the melody played back at 95-90% accuracy across frequencies. The audibility of enemy footsteps in shooters, and generally the positioning of enemies by sound, is very good. If you reduce the emphasis on the highs, the sound quality itself is rather good (if you disregard the highs). The low frequencies are essentially absent because they are already weak on their own, and for some reason, the mid-high boosted frequencies further drown them out. It also distorts some sounds and voices at high frequencies, sometimes just a little and sometimes to the point where it hurts the ears... The headphone volume is 30% lower than my old ones (too quiet / could be louder?). The material, of course, smells terrible...  Stas: use Hator Hypergang 3 less than month |

After a long process of adjustments, I managed to figure out that for some reason, the mids-highs cut the lows, and if you slightly turn them down in the equalizer, the bass starts to appear, about 50% of what it was on my old headphones. Also, some highs are exaggerated, I played a YouTube video, and where the sound was good on the old ones, on these (the default from the manufacturer) when a person is speaking, it sounds as if they are using a cheap headset. I corrected all this in the equalizer like this - starting from 800 = -2.5dB, 1k = -4, 2k = -5.5dB, 4k = -7dB, then slight adjustment, 8k = -5dB and 16k = -7dB.
The audibility of enemies' footsteps in shooters and overall sound positioning of enemies is very good.
I realize I was lucky with my old headphones, but I can't rate this model above "good," and that's only after adjustments in the equalizer; before equalizer adjustments, I would have rated it "terrible model"...
