Hi-Fi player based on Android OS with support for fast charging, Bluetooth receiver, powerful built-in amplifier and paired DACs from Cirrus Logic. Each audio channel uses independent CS43198 DACs from the Master HIFI line, which process the signal for each channel independently of each other. The manufacturer emphasizes that both DACs support 384 kHz/DSD 256 decoding, providing exceptional sound purity with ultra-low harmonic distortion and impressive signal-to-noise performance.
What is equally important, the manufacturer has updated the amplifier circuit, which will drive both 16-ohm street capsules and serious studio models with impedances in the region of 300 ohms with equal ease. The aluminium body with rounded side edges looks solid, fits nicely in the hand and does not weigh down your shirt or pants pocket. To interact with the user and display all important information, the player has a 4-inch IPS touch screen.
The player has a Snapdragon 425 SoC platform, like the flagship HiBy R6 Pro. The player’s own memory is 16 GB, but it can be increased up to 512 GB with a microSD card. The player runs on Android 8.1. In general, the performance of the installed hardware completely covers all the needs of the player, the shell works as quickly and responsively as possible, applications open quickly and do not freeze.
HiBy R5 is equipped with two current headphone outputs: in addition to the standard 3.5 mm output, there is a balanced 4.4 mm pentacon. Thanks to the presence of Bluetooth 5.0, the device is capable of not only sending, but also receiving an audio signal, acting as a DAC for external sound sources. The built-in 3500 mAh battery, according to the manufacturer, provides up to 18 hours of continuous music playback, and support for Quick Charge 3.0 guarantees fast charging. As for the list of supported file formats, it includes almost all popular formats: FLAC, WMA, WAV, ALAC, DSF, DSDIFF, MP3, OGG. Separately, it should be noted that the player supports DTA technology.
