Hitachi DV20VB2

The Japanese company Hitachi has been manufacturing electrical equipment for various applications for more than 100 years — from simple household to high-tech industrial. The company has little experience in the production of power tools, but the products have already managed to win their niche in the market, and are successfully retained in it. The DV20VB2 impact drill is proof of that.

Ease of operation and management

The tool is intended for domestic use, and is positioned in the low-cost segment. It is supplied with all necessary functions (impact, drilling).

Despite the extremely low weight of 2.2 kg and compact dimensions (length 333 mm), the model is in fact one of the most powerful in its class (790 W), and easily handles with holes in concrete with a diameter of up to 20 mm. In addition, the drill is designed to work with both keyless and key chucks (optional), which behaves a little more reliably in chiselling. Although the percussion function of the tool is still rather weak (26,000 beats / min at full load).

Also note the presence of a disk speed controller on the start button, and automatic speed control by pressing the button.

Equipment

In terms of equipment, we were pleased with a convenient plastic case for storage and carrying, as well as an additional elongated handle, designed to increase the convenience of working with the tool.

The Hitachi DV20VB2 drill is an excellent inexpensive tool for frequent home use.
