An affordable family of laptops from HP with modest features, fast charging support, and options for upgrading storage and RAM modules. These are part of the G series from HP, most of which offer budget solutions for work or study, capable of handling various everyday tasks such as text editing, math operations, document management, business correspondence, web surfing, video calls, etc.
Despite being entry-level, the manufacturer chose not to skimp too much on hardware and selected the AMD Barcelo platform with Zen 3 architecture. Consequently, all HP 255 G9 laptops come equipped with either 4-core Ryzen 3 chips or 6-core Ryzen 5 chips, which additionally support multi-threaded data processing and auto-overclocking. Because of this, the computing power of this lineup corresponds approximately to the level of more famous competitors at 1.5-2 times the price.
The display offers a 15.6-inch Full HD screen based on an SVA/IPS matrix with a standard brightness reserve (250 cd/m2), modest color reproduction (45% NTSC), and anti-glare coating. Traditionally, for this lineup, the manufacturer focused on user convenience with the laptop. Thus, they retained the numeric keypad on the keyboard. The proprietary touchpad supports gesture control, which helps in faster and more convenient page scrolling, scaling, or quick switching between open applications.
For video calls, there is a branded True Vision webcam with a directional microphone and resolution of 1280x720 pixels. Network traffic is handled by a network controller with a wireless receiver (Wi-Fi 5 + Bluetooth 4.1). You can connect an external monitor to the HDMI output. Additionally, note the presence of a card reader, TPM security module, and ports for USB C and HDMI connections.

The components are an excellent laptop with normal hardware, and the ssd is right mega fast and the picture is bright, plus I like the backlight and its effect on the eyes, it doesn’t burn out like a cheap beech acer for which I used to work, I put it right next to it and you can see the difference captcha , the old beech blue gave as if. here the iron is cooler, the ryzen is fresh, the 5000 series, and there was the old antediluvian intel of the year, so the 2014 release No, maybe there are some shortcomings, but I don’t see them against the background of an old working computer ![]() |
This is a lightweight laptop with a nice design, quality build, and a pleasing appearance. The keyboard is enjoyable to use, and the screen opens smoothly, sometimes even with one hand. Additionally, the disk space is sufficient, the integrated graphics are excellent, the Ryzen 7 is powerful, and the integrated graphics are good. Design. Keyboard. Sound from speakers. So far, so good. The laptop is excellent. ![]() |
