I strongly advise you to choose a model from another manufacturer. Nothing that would somehow make this printer stand out from other laser printers I have been using this miracle of technology since November 2018. This is one big problem. And if you consider that I have been using office equipment at the advanced user level for almost 30 years, this is the first time I have encountered such a misunderstanding. With enormous difficulty I installed the drivers on the computer. I never even suspected that this could cause a problem. Drivers crash with enviable frequency. You have to install a new one. Periodically throws out feints, breaking the seal in the middle. He can print 20 pages in PDF, and then stumble in the middle of the next file and have to use the Doctor program, which does not always help. And this is when printing via a USB port. But the prices for the cartridge are such that the poor cannot afford it. I don’t want to advertise other manufacturers, but the previous printer with the ability to charge a cartridge with powder worked for 7 years. In front of him was a printer, which, despite the then frantic workload, worked for 8 years. And a part simply flew off the drum, and the model was already discontinued. When it comes to monochrome laser printing, I always think of HP printers. I have been working with this technology for more than 20 years, I have dealt with many different models of laser printers of different generations and have always been faced with the consistently high quality of this equipment. Here, however, it must be said that almost all of these models were actually produced by the Japanese company Canon. But I think that this does not detract from the merits of HP itself. Two circumstances prompted me to purchase this particular model. The first is that it is simply a good monochrome laser printer. In addition, this is a model of the newest generation. It works quickly, quietly and with excellent print quality. It warms up from a cold state quite quickly, in less than half a minute, and when printing it reaches a speed of more than 20 pages per minute. This is enough for printing in a working group of 4 people. The approximate print volume is 150-200 pages per week, so the resource of the photodrum, which is now installed separately in the printer and not in the cartridge, will last for a long time at this rate of use. The second important circumstance is the delivery set, which includes three full-fledged original cartridges with a capacity of 2300 pages each. So the group is provided with consumables for the next 8.5 months (!), and then they will go to the gas station. Can print from smartphones and laptops via WiFi. We haven’t tried it in this capacity yet, but I have no doubt that everything will be OK. According to the manufacturer, the resource of the photodrum cartridge will end at the tenth of a thousand pages, and it costs approximately 1,700 hryvnia, which is a lot. It does not tolerate voltage drops in the network that happen in our country. |

The HP LaserJet Utra series of devices is positioned by the American manufacturer as a new printing business model based on the "division of labor". The fact is that a separate toner cartridge and a developer drum cartridge are installed inside the printers of the line. Such a bundle can significantly reduce the cost of a print and extend the life of the photoconductor.
Increased resource
With small volumes of printing, three cartridges that are included in the HP LaserJet Ultra M106W package will last for 2-3 years of use without the need for replacement. Their total resource is 6900 pages. The drum cartridge will need to be replaced when 9200 black and white prints are completed.
Printing methods
The printer supports wired, wireless, and direct printing. The latter method indicates the possibility of printing monochrome prints directly from a flash drive. “Over the air”, the model interacts with smartphones or tablets using Apple Air Print, Google Cloud Print, Wi-Fi Deirect and HP ePrint wireless technologies.
The target audience
Due to its compact dimensions and light weight, the HP LaserJet Ultra M106W will not burden a room with a lack of free space with its presence.
