How to choose a gaming keyboardLet's look at the differences between the types of switches and additional equipment for gaming keyboards

Logitech G815 Lightsync RGB Tactile Switch price graph

I like the keyboard, it's pleasant and convenient to use.
12 October 2021
Since I barely used mechanical keyboards before, I can't really discuss the nuances and intricacies of this model in the context of differences from Cherry Blue, Brown, Red, and other variants. I didn’t want a clicking keyboard right away, and I was looking for a moderately short travel with clear actuation - something which was not really good on my not-so-cheap membrane (G510s).

I was also looking for a full RGB with individual key customization. As a pure whim - volume control with a wheel, which is very convenient and damn enjoyable. Oh, almost forgot one of the main criteria - the backlight should focus on the symbols, as I didn't want a light spot before my eyes.
The typing and gaming experience - it's become a bit easier to "understand" the key presses, but I think that's typical for any mechanical keyboard. The keyboard is slim and relatively compact - despite the additional keys. The retractable legs are two-stage - i.e., there are three positions for the body - this is great, I missed that on the old one. Also, there are rubber pads on all the legs. The keys hardly lag when pressed "down and sideways". Four brightness levels + off - enough for any lighting. For gaming - a large Enter key and both Shifts (and it's good for typing as well).
Here it’s not just a spoonful of tar, but a whole ladle (scoop). First - this model apparently has a design flaw, as a result - the keyboards are slightly bent (center up, about a millimeter or two). Moreover, this is a widespread issue. The reviewer who mentioned this curvature overlooked one of its unpleasant consequences - if you fully use the folding legs, the front of the keyboard rests on the table not on rubber feet - but on hard corners. This does not affect the use of the keyboard in any way, but the table could suffer over a long period. I went to the store intending to exchange it, and they brought another with the exact same bend. The second disadvantage, not as "loud" - the keyboard has a USB hub (though what kind of a HUB is it with one port...), and because of this, the cable is so thick that when moving the keyboard it will knock everything in its path - this is pure silliness. Lastly, the software, the RGB lighting settings are, to put it mildly, not intuitive, and there are only two user profiles (if I understood everything correctly - not sure) - with such capabilities, it’s just ridiculous. I mean, the memory is filled with a bunch of all sorts of meaningless (for me, of course) rainbow overflows - and they left two slots for me... One tiny downside - the Cyrillic is aligned with the Latin, and the symbols are almost identical in size and boldness - if your typing skills aren’t well-honed, getting used to fast typing (not blind, of course) will take some time. Also, the symbols (the numbers are lit) of the number row are not illuminated.
