Mecool KD1

The media player of the Mecool trademark belongs to the cohort of TV sticks, that is, the smallest solutions comparable in size to ordinary flash drives. The model has a built-in HDMI connector for connecting to a TV, and in most cases it is not necessary to use the supplied network adapter for power supply: you can “power” the device from the TV’s USB connector. The Mecool KD1 set-top box has received a Google certificate, so the official Android TV 10 operating system is installed here and there is support for all the most popular functions and services of this company, including Chromecast.

Hidden inside the small case is an Amlogic S905Y2 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. This is enough for stable operation without unwanted pauses, as well as playing 4K HDR video (HDR10 is supported) in most popular online cinemas and multimedia services (with the exception of Netflix, which only shows content in basic quality). Also note that the package includes not only a small remote control with voice control, but also a remote IR sensor.
