A powerful and highly efficient next-generation computer power supply with modern circuitry, featuring a highly efficient half-bridge topology with DC-DC converters, fully modular cables, and a substantial set of built-in protections. This model is next-gen, fully compatible with the PCI-E 5.0 interface and ATX 3.0 standard. The manufacturer positions it as a mid-range product designed to power high-performance gaming systems with top/near-top video card models like RTX 4060/4070/4080, equipped with a 16-pin power connector.
It has a unique feature of power connectors with yellow contacts at both ends of the cable, making it clear whether the power cable is fully inserted or not. This helps avoid the common issue of melted 16-pin connectors on GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards. Unlike the original MSI MAG, the MAG PCIE5’s efficiency has increased, earning it a gold quality certificate instead of bronze.
Unnecessary cables can now be completely detached, preventing unwanted mess from cluttering the interior with unnecessary wires and obstructing the view of the lighting. Otherwise, it closely resembles its predecessor. Inside, it houses a high-quality component base with a resonant LLC converter, synchronous rectifier, and DC-DC converters. The wide main power rail can deliver up to 100% of the PSU's total power, providing stable and efficient power even to very powerful and overclocked hardware like the Core i9 and GeForce RTX 4080. It also includes essential protective tools, including protection against overvoltage, excessive current, and short circuits.

unfortunately, the power supply unit lacks a semi-passive fan mode, and for some reason, MSI decided it should start immediately at 1000 RPM and not go below that. Even under any load, the speed increases. My setup with a 5.700x3D and RTX 2070 consumes no more than 350 watts, but it is incredibly noisy. Additionally, it constantly makes creaking and cracking noises. The most unpleasant thing is that whenever a minimal load occurs, the headsets start producing electrical crackling and humming, and the worst part is that even in the last few days, using USB sound cards, they also start humming the same way. As soon as I switch to my old power supply, all these issues disappear, including the sound and the noises in the headsets. With the old Chieftec Element ELP-600S power supply, none of these problems existed. A few days after purchase, I requested a replacement, but it was denied, stating that according to the manufacturer this is normal, and the power supply is designed to work with grounding, which is almost never installed in Ukraine. If I can't resolve this issue, I will have to sell it. While I can replace the fan to reduce noise, I have no way to fix the unknown crackling from the unit itself and the noise on audio devices. price the fan hums even when idle, an electronic humming and buzzing noise in all headsets, both when connected directly to the motherboard and when using external USB sound cards, and it hums and buzzes on its own inside, which is audible. ![]() |
A solid power supply for its price, which, unfortunately, you should not buy. It is of good quality, heavy (for its size), with all protections and a good efficiency rating. However, there is one serious nuance. I don't feel like detailing the pros; as a PSU in a vacuum, it is good, so it's better to switch to the nuance right away. I don't have the problems with PSU crackling or headphone noise that one of the reviewers mentioned, but I fully agree about the fan. It really lacks a semi-active operating system. In my PC, there are a total of 9 fans + a VRM fan + a pump, and they all together make less noise than the single fan in this PSU. The problem lies precisely in its operation without load, as in games/movies/music, the sound from the headphones usually drowns out the PSU fan, and it's not audible, so there are no issues in such scenarios. It was hard to get used to in the first days, but now after 2 months, I've adapted and can't say there is any discomfort. Perhaps someone will find it useful for reference; I measured it with a sound level meter: 40 dB noise from the fan without load, ~30 dB noise from the entire PC, excluding the PSU fan and without load (~700 rpm fans, 1500 rpm pump), ~33-35 dB sound level at head height, assuming the computer is on the desk. Of course, these are not critical levels, and my old DeepCool DA700 was significantly noisier, but still, for this price, I would recommend people pay a little extra and look for a PSU with a semi-active cooling system, especially if the other fans in your PC are expensive and quiet, as this fan will definitely spoil the whole picture. Price, quality, protections, 12v-2x6 pin, certificate. Noise ![]() |
Everything the same as the commentator above wrote. The power supply unit worked normally for the first few days, then problems began. The fan started making a crackling noise, and it caused strong vibrations on the table. Then, it turned out that not only the fan was crackling but also the chokes. The service center acknowledged the problem but persistently tried to convince me that this was normal operation for the PSU. However, for some reason, when I started asking uncomfortable questions and cited an example of a cheaper unit that operates much more quietly, they decided to check it again, and when I called a few days later, the unit had already been sent to the supplier. The question is — why? Everything was supposedly "fine" with it. Today, a store employee contacted me again and again tried to convince me that there were no problems with the unit. But for some reason, when I told him everything I wrote above, he immediately seemed incompetent on the matter and suggested contacting a competent employee. Then they called back themselves and offered to refund my money or exchange the item. Everything seems fine, but they only did this after I started raising my voice. In short, the unit itself is far from the best for its price. It's better to consider something else or add a little more money and buy something better. As for the stores, I advise not to give up and to stand up for your rights to the end. Otherwise, you'll be left high and dry. Nice appearance Everything else ![]() |
