I met my wife at our travel club. We don’t have children yet, just as there is no reason to refuse regular trips with our friendly and cheerful team. It’s a pity, only they stopped going to the Crimea, the places there are fabulous, but they discovered the Carpathians for themselves. A tent for a tourist is not just a necessary thing, but also very important in two aspects at once - it should be easy to carry, and there should be enough space in it. Based on these two indicators, I chose Totem Summer 2. It consists of an outer polyester waterproof and windproof canopy and an inner nylon fabric body. I am familiar with many tent designs firsthand and a common disadvantage of compact models is the almost inevitable formation of condensation. And what could be more disgusting than wild humidity and wet things in the morning? In this tent, this issue was solved with the help of a double-hull design and a whole system of ventilation valves. There are four of them, they are equipped with Hook-and-loop and are located at the top of the dome. So in terms of condensation, this is the best lightweight tent for the price. Another important advantage of the tent, which you have to carry with you, is its compact size and light weight. And with these parameters, RedPoint Steady 2 is in perfect order. When folded in a complete compression bag, it only weighs 2.8 kg. You need to put it together, but the procedure is simple and can be completed in 15 minutes. And the design also uses high-quality plastic (Duraflex) and metal fittings (the legendary Japanese YKK). For a double tent, not the largest size is a little expensive. |

The model is made of polyester in beige colour. Looks compact and cute. The frame of three 9.5 mm aluminium arches provides stability even in very windy conditions. Reinforced corners protect the awning from damage. The inner tent has dimensions of 130x210x110 cm, the outer tent is much larger — 260x210x110 cm, which allows you to have 2 vestibules. Considering that there are 2 entrances in the tent, this design is quite practical: each tourist can go out without disturbing his neighbor and store his backpack and shoes on his side.
Dry, fresh and safe
The water resistance of the awning is 5000 mm, the seams are sealed, so powerful water flows do not pose a threat. The tent can be safely set up on wet ground, without fear of getting wet, because the bottom made of Oxford fabric has an even higher water resistance index of 10,000 mm.
Two windows provide good lighting and ventilation, as both open, and a mosquito net prevents insects from entering. To prevent raindrops from blowing into the windows, a wind valve is provided. Interior pockets and a shelf are a great place to keep your essentials.
The weight of the structure is 3.05 kg, which even seems small for such high technical characteristics. The tent is reliable and comfortable, but a bit pricey for a double model.
