The Tefal electric grill belongs to solutions for a large family, as it is characterized by an increased size of the working surface (40x20 cm instead of the standard OptiGrill 30x20 cm). Another feature of the model is an increased set of automatic cooking programs. Now in 9 pcs, including sandwich, burger, sausages, fish, poultry, seafood and different types of meat (red, pork, bacon).
Traditionally, the Tefal Optigrill+ XL GC 7228 contact grill allows you to cook steaks without the use of oil and achieve the required level of doneness from the option with blood to Well Done. So, there is a sensor for determining the thickness of the product, which sets the optimal temperature in auto programs, plus there is a clear colour indicator of the cooking process. Of the additional options, it is worth highlighting defrosting and the ability to set the required temperature manually (4 levels are offered in the range of 110 – 275 °C). After use, the plates can be removed and then placed together with the drip tray in the dishwasher for cleaning. If you wish, you can purchase not a completely black version, but a related grill in the colours of the "stainless steel" XL GC 722D.

An extremely successful purchase. A very practical device in the kitchen. You can cook anything on this grill with a minimal amount of fat. The heating temperature is quite high. The plates are removable, and new ones can be purchased when these wear out significantly, but the price of the plates is like airplane wings. They are easy to clean, just like any non-stick cookware. On the grill, I've grilled steaks, chicken, sausages, and reheated shawarma. The most important and interesting feature of the grill is the auto-cooking programs for all occasions, plus it automatically detects the thickness of the product, thereby determining how long to cook it. There's also a manual mode. I had no problems with any product I cooked – nothing was undercooked or raw. The grill very accurately determines the cooking time. The program menu is successful and intuitive. The light indication is clear and ergonomic. There's also sound indication, which is very helpful when the grill is on, and you're in another room. Separate signals indicate the doneness levels and the end of cooking. The design is concise and practical. There is a tray for collecting fat during cooking. After cooking, the grill itself can be easily wiped with wet wipes and cleaned of grease droplets. We bought it primarily for hot sandwiches, it copes with this task with a bang. We tried to make steaks and kebabs, too, it's okay. But it's better on a fire, in principle it's a cool thing, but we ate sandwiches and put them on the grill. So it's for an amateur. And it's cool to heat up various cutlets and chops, as if they were fresh from the pan. The only thing I would have known was to take a smaller one There are different modes for different products, heats up quickly, high quality, easy to clean the ribs because they are detachable, The grill is cool, but not for everyday use, we had fun and scored on it. |
We wanted it for a long time and finally bought it. A cool kitchen device that saves time. For example, with chicken thighs: you put them in, turn on the right mode, and go about your business without any splatters, unlike a frying pan. The chicken comes out with a light crust and tender inside. We were pleasantly surprised when the chicken breast came out juicy. From what we've already tried cooking: steaks, shawarma, chicken breasts, thighs, various sausages, vegetables - everything turns out delicious and, most importantly, without using oil. From personal experience – this is the most optimal size. There's no point in getting a smaller one, unless you live alone and cook a single portion. The basic functions are sufficient, and in any case, you have a manual mode for unconventional items like mushrooms. The surfaces remove easily, but washing them is quite enjoyable. I've seen reviews online mentioning that for some, the non-stick coating peels off after a few uses and a couple of washes. So, after 2 months of regular cooking, the coating is as good as new (I wash with the soft side of a sponge with Fairy, even though you can put it in the dishwasher, I wouldn't recommend it. We've already ruined one non-stick pan, even though it was stated that it could be dishwasher washed). But in any case, the coating can be restored in Ukraine, we already had experience with restoration - I won’t advertise the company, Google is your friend. We considered getting it with the Belgian waffle mold, but given the model's price range, it's more cost-effective to buy a waffle iron separately. Automatic cooking.
