Laconic design and affordable price
The popular Chinese brand Xiaomi, known for its smartphones, also produces a lot of consumer equipment along with its official partners. So, users are well aware of the tools, household appliances, electronic gadgets and devices of the smart home ecosystem, known as MiJia. One of these devices was the Xiaomi MiJia Reciprocating Five Cutter Head electric shaver, which went on the market in early 2021. The model belongs to the affordable segment and has excellent characteristics that more expensive devices can envy. The device is made in an elegant and practical design, where straight lines prevail. The razor received a matte black plastic body, which housed a single control button and 2 LED indicators. One of them displays the status of the power-on lock (child protection), and the second shows the status of the battery charge.

The razor is powered by a linear maglev motor that generates 15,000 cutting strokes per minute. Of course, this is not the 40,000th frequency of cuts, like the flagships of Braun, but the order of prices here is completely different. The model uses a mesh system with 5 floating shaving heads for a snug fit and a smooth ride. The cutting unit consists of a mesh for lifting the hair of the bristles, 2 knives with bionic mesh for the main work and 2 meshes with sickle-shaped knives for cutting long hair. In sum, this design provides a smooth cut of the bristles in one pass without irritation of the skin of the face. The water protection of the IPX7 case involves the use of a device for shaving dry and with foam, but practice has shown that wet procedures clog the nets. And even rinsing the shaving head under the stream does little to clean it. The shaver is powered by a built-in Li-Ion battery with a solid capacity of 2000 mAh, which received a fast USB-C charging port (cable included). Thanks to this, a "full tank" of electricity can be "filled" in 2 hours, and it lasts for 90 minutes of continuous operation.
