The 2025 debut in the ZTE lineup is a portable Wi-Fi router that sits at the intersection of mid-range and advanced class solutions. One of the accessory's features is its support for high speeds: it is stated to be compliant with LTE Cat.6, meaning data reception can reach up to 300 Mbps, and transmission up to 50 Mbps. Another important feature of the model is the presence of two TS-9 connectors, designed for connecting MIMO antennas to improve stability, range, and overall connection quality.
Additionally, for similar purposes (performance + reliability), a Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 modem is used, which has proven itself well in various mobile devices. The ZTE MF986C router supports the Wi-Fi 5 standard and operates on dual-frequency bands — 2.4 and 5 GHz. The model's autonomy is ensured by a 3000 mAh battery, allowing for up to 8 hours of "internet sharing" without connecting to a power outlet. Furthermore, the battery itself is removable, simplifying maintenance and allowing extra batteries to be purchased for extended autonomous operation. Other features of the device include the presence of a USB C port (for charging, wired internet connection, etc.) and three LED indicators (mobile signal, Wi-Fi network, and charge level).
