Visor hood
— the name of such hoods comes from the fact that they have a flat body resembling a visor. At the same time, the design of such a device usually does not provide its own air duct — there is only a hole to which an extraction duct or hose is connected. Thanks to this, the hoods are compact, inexpensive and at the same time quite functional; this option is popular among low-cost models designed for relatively small kitchens in city apartments. However, there are also more expensive solutions that have an air duct — they vaguely resemble T-shaped hoods. One of the most popular ways to install a visor hood is to build it into a hanging cabinet (see "Type of installation"). However, wall mounting is also possible. Speaking about installation in a cabinet, it is worth noting that such installation is easier than that of fully built-in models, and the term “embedding” is rather arbitrary. Often the hood is entirely placed under the cabinet, and only the air duct is passed through the cabinet; and if the device is planned to be used only in recirculation mode, then the air duct is not required at all.
