JBL Casual Headphones

JBL T Series: Introduction to JBL

Many manufacturers have so-called showcase lines that include exclusively flagship gadgets with a bunch of bells and whistles. And there is their complete opposite — mass products without bells and whistles, which most people buy. At JBL, such an entry point is the T series, in which everyone will find something to their liking. Despite the availability, there are really good options in the line of T-headphones that are not inferior to the more advanced models of the company. For example JBL T110 Price from 239 up to 1 357 ₴, released in 2016, are still among the most popular in-ear headphones on the market. They play decently, the trademark JBL sound is fully present, and the price of the issue is some $ 10.

JBL Live — inexpensive closed-type overhead headphones with combined connection

JBL positions the Live series as universal headphones for every day. Did you want to take a walk on the street? Great, we connect via Bluetooth so that the wires don't stick out and go ahead. The closed design provides fairly high-quality insulation, so the ambient noise will be barely noticeable. And the integration of Google's voice assistant will minimize the need to take your smartphone out of your pocket. At the same time, you can connect a cable to the headphones and listen to your favorite tracks at home without compression. The line is pleasantly surprised by the musical omnivore: the sound is balanced, without the traditional JBL bias in the bass.

JBL E Series: Affordable and versatile everyday headphones

One of the most popular lines in the JBL range, which includes both wired and wireless headphones, and is also divided into in-channel (E15 and E25BT), overhead (E35 and E45BT) and full-size (E55BT) models. According to JBL, these are perfect headphones for use at home or on the road. The manufacturer says that the series updated in 2016 now has the so-called "classic JBL sound" with rich bass. The line is dominated by overhead closed models, which can boast of a folding design and a removable cable. This company is diluted by several intra-channel models of 2016.

JBL Synchros: Daily closed over-ear headphones with microphone and cable

If you do not want to spend a lot of money on the purchase of headphones, then pay attention to the JBL Synchros family. These models belong to the overhead type and boast a closed design that cuts off most of the external noise. At the same time, there is always a built-in microphone, and the headphones themselves are easily folded, fitting into a small case. With all this, the creators want to say that their creation regularly needs to be taken with them somewhere on the road. Simplifies transportation and disconnectable cable. In addition to the overhead models in the Synchros range, you can find several diverse intra-channel plugs: completely ordinary JBL Synchros S100 and sports JBL Synchros Reflect with a special lock and protection from moisture.

JBL JR: for the youngest

Considering all the richness of the JBL assortment, it would be strange if they did not also release a couple of children's models. In 2017, they did this by introducing the "Junior" line. It includes several overhead models (there are both wired and bluetooth options) with an adapted headband, which will allow the headphones to stay securely on the child's head without causing unnecessary discomfort. The second important difference from the "adult" JBL was the limitation of the maximum volume and the reduction of sound pressure (85 dB limit), so that the child inadvertently did not turn the volume to the maximum. In terms of design, everything is stylish, fashionable, youthful, there is even a pack of stickers in the kit so that the child can customize them in accordance with his sense of beauty.

JBL Duet: A compromise between the everyday E-Series and the flagship Everest

According to the idea of JBL, the Duet line was supposed to be an alternative between the affordable E-series and the flagship Everest. They say that it retains all the values of JBL (build quality, branded sound with an excess of bass, etc.) and at the same time will be inexpensive. The available three models (in-channel Duet Mini, overhead Duet BT and full-size Duet NC) will allow you to choose the most convenient form factor for daily listening to music.

JBL for sports

JBL Under Armour: Created by athletes for athletes

In the JBL arsenal, well, there are a lot of different headphones for athletes. It would be more accurate to say that there are no sports models, perhaps, only in the line of office headsets. But if it comes to the most trushny sport, then the joint series of JBL and the famous American manufacturer of sports equipment Under Armour will come to mind first. These are really headphones created by athletes for athletes, so the matter is not limited to the banal protection of the case from sweat. For example, the JBL Under Armour True Wireless Flash model uses conventional touch buttons instead of touch buttons (thanks to this, headphones can be operated with gloves), additional attachment clips can be found in the kit for a more secure fit in the ear. The JBL UA family includes mainly wireless in-channel models of 2017-2018. In 2019, there was a slight expansion and wireless overhead headphones appeared in the assortment JBL Under Armour Sport Wireless Train and JBL Under Armour True Wireless Flash Price from 5 499 up to 8 242 ₴.

JBL Free: optimal true wireless headphones for sports

JBL Free, even before the cooperation of Under Armour, was the company's first attempt to make excellent true wireless (that is, without wires at all) headphones for athletes. Externally, these are typical wireless plugs that are protected from water according to the IPX5 standard, equipped with simple buttons to control the player and can boast additional attachments for athletes. They sound in the best traditions of JBL: the sound is warm and assertive, but slightly muted and with an abundance of bass. And the price is slightly cheaper than the models of the Under Armour family.

JBL Endurance: wireless sports headphones with reinforced construction and improved protection from moisture

Endurance is a line of wireless sports in—ear headphones with a reinforced design and improved insulation. The main feature of the entire line was enhanced protection from water (IPX7 standard), thanks to which the headphones withstand swimming for 30 minutes, diving to a depth of one metre and training in the pouring rain. The best model for swimmers is JBL Endurance Dive , which is equipped with a built-in 1 GB player. An equally important feature of the series was the design with an additional rubber seal between the body and the rubber ear pad itself. Thanks to him, the headphones sit securely in the auricle and do not strive to fall out even during sudden movements.

JBL Reflect: in-channel sports headphones for any choice

Reflect is almost the only family of headphones under the wing of JBL, which boasts a clear idea. These are moderately affordable wireless headphones for going to the gym or treadmill. This is where the main features of this line grow: protection from moisture and decent battery life within 8-12 hours. In terms of shape, there is a maximum spread so that everyone can choose for themselves: there are purely TW models consisting simply of two miniature "snails" that need to be inserted into the ears. There are also conventional Bluetooth models, where 2 headphones are connected by a cord that is fixed on the neck. And models like JBL Reflect Fit and Reflect Response are made in the form of a "necklace" in which the battery and all electronics are hidden.

Models for connoisseurs of high-quality sound

JBL Everest: wireless hi-tech headphones with a pair of aces in the sleeve

At one time, the JBL Everest line was distinguished by the use of a couple of interesting and unusual technologies. For example, the JBL ShareMe feature allowed them to share music with any Bluetooth headphones within a radius of 10 metres. And TruNote technology makes it possible to adjust the sound of the speakers in accordance with the anatomical features of the user's auditory canal. In addition, Everest models were appreciated for their excellent passive noise insulation. Coupled with a large battery reserve and the new fast charging function, Everest models will be an excellent choice not only for the urban environment, but also for a long journey. In addition to this, in 2019, for some reason, JBL supplemented the Everest series with a rather expensive in-channel model JBL Everest Elite 150NC with active noise reduction.

JBL Club

A new 2020 lineup that was inspired by “touring DJs.” This means that in the My JBL mobile app you can choose a sound preset in the style of your favorite DJ. We haven't had a chance to test this feature yet, but in words it sounds like a regular change of equalizer presets. Much more interesting in our opinion is that the older model JBL Club One uses high-end drivers with graphene membranes and is equipped with a brand new terribly sophisticated active noise cancellation system True Adaptive Noise Cancelling. That is, no noise of the morning subway will prevent you from turning on Joey Beltram's Energy Flash and being transported to an imaginary dance floor. And JBL promises up to 48 hours of operation from the built-in battery. As for the younger models, they are all there in the same way, but simpler.

JBL J: for music lovers "on a low-cost"

An old line that is still actively being sold. Their positioning is quite strange: on the one hand, we have a design in the style of DJ headphones and an emphasis on swivel cups, which are again appreciated by DJs. On the other hand, J88 has 2 modifications JBL J88i and JBL J88A , both are equipped with remote controls for controlling the player on an iPhone or Android smartphone. It's strange to see this now, but in 2013 it was ok. Since the announcement, the price for them has dropped a lot and now it is quite an interesting option for music lovers "on a low-cost": you do not need to overpay for Bluetooth or a microphone, and the sound quality here is more interesting than many modern JBL models. At least, there is no such noticeable colour and accent on the bass.

We hope this guide will help you choose exactly the headphones that best meet your requirements. By the way, not all JBL models are in this list, as mentioned above, porridge may be observed in some series and neither the user nor JBL himself can recognize something unique in them. Therefore, we did not add lines from a couple of models that are not particularly sold, so as not to clog the ether.

The right choice for you!
