Palit GamePro: Flagship Flagships
![]() |
Palit has gained a reputation as a manufacturer of relatively democratic and inexpensive video cards. But not in the case of the GamePro series, here the company's engineers can come off in full, releasing their inner enthusiasts outside. Usually, only general outlines remain from the reference card, the cooling system is being processed and the design of the printed circuit board is changing, and small but useful improvements are being made.
For example, the GTX 1660 performed by GamePro appeared as a completely new graphics card, in which there is little left of the reference. GDDR5 memory was replaced with GDDR6 with much higher bandwidth, and the core frequency was raised almost to the maximum, thanks to which the card's performance increased by almost 20% compared to the original GTX 1660. And the most recent video cards of the GamePro line have a massive metal plate clinging to the back to protect the printed circuit board. An almost silent cooling system and RGB backlight are included. With all this, prices still remain democratic. Especially against the background of the conditional Asus ROG.
Palit GameRock: Design first, then performance
![]() |
The design of video cards is similar to the creation of working prototypes of cars ― every designer dreams of his supercar, but the market needs practical and inexpensive cars first of all. Therefore, make sure that she "eats" a little gasoline and is safe, and keep the folding doors in the style of a Lamborghini. Nevertheless, the exotic is also appropriate. For example, in the case of the RTX 10XX family, Palit designers used massive blue-and-white casings made of metal and plastic. The illuminated blocks are neatly scattered along the casing, and the LEDs can be configured so that they signal the temperature of the video core.
Well, looking at the variations of the RTX 3080 and 3090 performed by GameRock, you may get the impression that this is such an inappropriate greeting from the glamorous 2000s, designed for no one. And what other thoughts will you have about the RTX 3080 protective casing, which is abundantly studded with rhinestones? It's weird at best, rather than bold. In fact, such a design has only one function: to emphasize all the splendor of the address ARGB-backlight, which can be configured much more cunningly than conventional RGB LEDs.
Palit JetStream: high-quality cooling
![]() |
The JetStream series was first introduced in 2012 and, after a number of improvements to the proprietary cooling system, has become one of the most attractive offers among all solutions in the NVIDIA range. Although, initially, the series belonged to the flagship, in recent years, the JetStream line has mainly released video cards for gamers who want to get maximum performance without unnecessary overpayments.
The cards in this series feature advanced cooling systems and an optimized PCB design to achieve maximum performance at a moderate noise level. For example, RTX 10XX cards had two-section Cooling system installed on the NVIDIA Turing core, in which the coolers rotate in different directions, thereby reducing the resistance of the airflow. By the way, these were almost the only variants of the Turing family of video cards with a backplate and additional cooling of memory chips. However, they occupied three slots instead of two.
Palit Dual: middle-class models with a democratic price tag and a double cooler
![]() |
The Dual line has a simple and understandable idea: we take any current graphics card and redesign its cooling system for a two-section cooler, tweak the core frequencies a little, arrange everything without frills and let it into stores at a reasonable price. Therefore, RGB backlight or unusual design are completely alien to Dual video cards.
For example, the RTX 2060 SUPER DUAL was one of the quietest versions of this graphics card. She managed to remain quiet under loading and in nominal mode, and with a little manual acceleration. If you go through the more recent models, then the RTX 3060 Ti Dual catches your eye. In the reference version, a pair of turntables was also responsible for cooling, but Palit engineers replaced them with more compact 90 mm fans, thanks to which they managed to reduce both the height and length of the graphics card without compromising cooling efficiency. As a result, two free slots will be enough for it to be placed in the case.
Palit StormX: compact graphics cards with single cooling
![]() |
You can't help but expect something like this from video cards with the name "Storm": either the core will work at maximum frequency, or the cooling system will be so powerful that it can instantly cool a piece of freshly fried steak. But no, Palit's simple, inexpensive and extremely compact StormX models are the exact opposite of these expectations.
Instead of a double cooler, here we have a reduced cooling system with single turntables, a radiator and a pair of heat pipes. Such compactness of StormX cards will attract owners of small cases with micro-ATX motherboards who want to assemble a compact PC without sacrificing its performance too much. For example, the length of the GTX 1660 SUPER in the StormX version is only 168 mm (against the reference 226 mm), while a single turntable handles with the blowing of the video chip no worse than classic double coolers. Well, the prices are traditionally one of the lowest on the market. For example, the GTX 1650 performed by StormX has long been the most affordable version of this graphics card, which cost $20-30 cheaper than the versions from Gigabyte or MSI.
Palit KalmX: unconventional graphics cards with passive cooling
![]() |
The key difference and advantage of the KalmX series is that these video cards do not have fans for cooling at all. For example, the GTX 1650 KalmX uses passive cooling instead of coolers, which occupies exactly two slots in thickness. And this is a massive plate radiator, which is encircled by a pair of heat pipes designed to enhance heat dissipation along the ribs. The same radiator cools the memory chips, while the power elements have their own small "sole".
Why such tricks? As the company's research has shown, some gamers and pros are willing to sacrifice a small percentage of performance to get a silent graphics card. And as numerous tests of the KalmX GTX 1650 have shown, Palit has a truly unique graphics card, which, although it heats up a little more than the reference sample, does not make any noise at all. An interesting option for assembling in a small case with well-placed fans that have enough minimum RPM to cool the system.
