Good card from Palit. Boosts at 1860MHz out of the box, which is standard. The cooling is fine. After 3 years, the graphics card started to heat up a few degrees more with default settings. However, an undervolt was done to 0.9V from the get-go, and the temperature dropped by 10 degrees. There's no strong overclocking for obvious reasons. But for those who need it, you can push it by 10%. The core and memory can be overclocked. In 2020, buying a new one is pointless. Check out the 1660S then. I have been using this graphics card for 2 years, here is my review after such a long period of use, I must say right away that I am not very knowledgeable about computer hardware. Under heavy load, it starts to buzz; I don't know if it was like this from the beginning or not since I only started getting into games in 2019. Poor cooling, it heats up a lot, and at full stock, temperatures reach up to 83 degrees in stress tests in MSI Kombustor (tests were conducted on a monitor with a resolution of 1440x900, yes, I know it's low). Average overclocking potential (adds 4-10FPS in almost all games); at maximum stable overclocking, temperatures can reach 85 degrees (this is even at 65% cooling speed, that's why I mentioned poor cooling!). I wouldn't recommend buying it in 2020 for Full HD gaming. Let me remind you, 83 degrees, that's even on a monitor with a resolution of 1440x900! Here's where the saying "Palit, it will burn your house down!" is fitting. the quality of workmanship is the same as that of the tops from MSI, while this is the cheapest 1060 6GB model there's nothing to complain about here! (and I know how to find fault with everything!) Justified overpayment
The 6 GB version of the GeForce GTX 1060 has much more potential than the 3 GB version. Already, several popular games (Rise of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Forza Horizon 3) at ultra settings, even at FullHD graphics resolution, consume 6 GB of video memory or more (a good alternative is the 8 GB Radeon RX 480). As a result, the 6GB GTX 1060, if not boosting the average frame rate, at least eliminates the severe stuttering of the 3GB version.
Hidden Potential
Moreover, the GTX 1060 with 6 GB allows you to cross the 1080p line and take a swing at 2K and even 4K resolution. Of course, the graphics settings will have to be reduced to at least medium, but it's clearly worth it. Moreover, at 4K resolution, the need for software texture smoothing, which is what distinguishes high and ultra settings from medium ones, disappears by itself.
Strict style
Palit Dual is a simple-looking, but quite solid dual-fan modification of the GTX 1060. Unlike the three-slot older Palit JetStream series, it occupies only two expansion slots. In addition to the large heatsink with heat pipes on the graphics chip, another small heatsink is mounted on the mosfets of the power circuit. This, coupled with a 6-pin power connector, gives hope for successful overclocking of the core - 2 GHz, if you're lucky with a particular instance.
