Household multi-split systems

Mitsubishi Electric kits are usually designated by two articles, external and internal unit MSZ-FD25VA/MUZ-FD25VABH. But there are exceptions, especially when sellers do not have consistency in the names.

1. Belonging to the household series of air conditioners, M or S.

2. Block Type:

  • S — internal wall mounted;
  • U — outer;
  • F — floor (console);
  • E — channel;
  • L — cassette.

3. Operating mode and type of compressor:

  • Z — inverter, cooling + heating;
  • H — without inverter, cooling + heating;
  • the absence of the symbol indicates that it works only for cooling, without an inverter.

4. The first letter F means a series, the second D means a sub—series. Examples of series:

  • BT, DM, HR — Classic;
  • VG, VGK, GE — Standard;
  • EF — Design;
  • FD, FH — Deluxe;
  • LN — Premium.

5. The nominal performance index allows you to visually determine what area the air conditioner is designed for, for example, 25 = ~ 2500 watts or an area of 25 m2. It is worth paying attention to the fact that this number usually refers to operation in cooling mode. In the heating mode, usually, the indicator is slightly higher.

6. Type of power supply:

  • V — single-phase;
  • Y — three-phase.

7. Modification:

  • A — inverter control A-control, refrigerant R410A;
  • B — R410A, non-invasive control.

8. There may be additional information about model modifications here. For example, if B is specified, ZUBADAN technology is used, aimed at using an air conditioner at low temperatures and increasing its efficiency for heating.

9. H — indicates that there is a heater on the pallet of the outdoor unit.

Semi-industrial models

Example of decoding a semi-industrial series on an indoor unit:

1. P — belonging to a semi-industrial series.

2. Block Type:

  • K — cassette;
  • S — floor (column);
  • F — floor (console);
  • E — channel;
  • L — cassette;
  • C — underfloor/outdoor;
  • U is an external unit.

3. Block type or operating mode:

  • A — indoor unit;
  • H — external unit operating in cooling and heating mode;
  • the absence of a letter is an external unit that works only for cooling.

4. Depends on whether the internal or external unit:

  • D—channel block, for internal;
  • Z — inverter control, if the unit is external;
  • the absence of the letter indicates that this is an external unit without an inverter.

5. The type of refrigerant, mainly here RP — R410A, if there is a letter M here, it means that the unit is used for multi-split systems, they have a slightly different marking:

  • RP — R410A which can be used on old already laid highways, for example for R22;
  • P — refrigerant R410A;
  • W — heat exchanger for heat pumps.

6. Nominal productivity, 71x10 = 710 watts.

7. Series.

8. A-Control control system.

External unit of the multi-split system

Example of decryption for an external block of a multi-split system:

1. M — series.

2. X is an outdoor unit of a multi-split system operating in cooling and heating mode.

3. Z — inverter control.

4. The number of connected indoor units.

5. B is a sub—series.

6. Flow Rate, 71x10 = 710 Watts.

7. V — single-phase connection.

8. A — refrigerant R410A, new A-control control system.
