Price, collapsible design, compact size, battery operation and USB-C power.
Small compartment for grains.

Debuting for 2022 from the ECG brand, this is one of the most affordable burr coffee grinders on the market. The manufacturer positions the model as a portable solution that is suitable for travel. So, the ECG KM 150 Minimo is really compact (185x74x74 mm) and not heavy (400 grams), and also runs on a 1250 mAh lithium-polymer battery. It charges via USB-C (wire included): a full charging cycle lasts about 1.5 hours.

Another feature of the coffee grinder is its collapsible design. Not only is the bowl removable, but also the bean compartment, which is designed to increase ease of use and simplify the cleaning procedure (a special brush is also included in the package).

Grinding of grains is carried out by conical millstones made of ceramics. Unlike metal, they work quieter (up to 65 dB) and with less heat (which has a positive effect on the aroma and taste of the drink), but are not as durable. You need to be more careful to ensure that foreign objects do not fall into the compartment.

Users can adjust the degree of grinding. So, for a smaller fraction you need to turn the mechanical indicator (located at the bottom of the core) clockwise, and for a larger fraction - counterclockwise. It is stated that the model is suitable for various purposes, including preparing espresso in a carob coffee maker, preparing filter coffee, and working with a French press. At the same time, the relatively low power (13 W) is compensated by the pulse mode, which also protects the device from overheating.

The bean compartment holds only 25 grams, so on average every 3 cups of coffee you will need to replenish it. For a bachelor coffee lover, this is not critical, but for a family, or especially for receiving guests, it is less convenient. But for the money, the ECG KM 150 Minimo is a very interesting burr model.

17 grind settings, dispenser up to 12 cups.
Short time of continuous operation.

The Cecotec brand electric coffee grinder has a stylish design. She received a silver metal case and a pair of turquoise flasks. This is a container for 250 grams of beans with an airtight lid and a spacious compartment for ground coffee. The latter, by the way, can be washed in the dishwasher.

Overall, Cecotec SteelMill 2000 Adjust is quite easy to maintain. And all because the working unit with flat metal millstones is removable. After removing it, you can either clean it with the included brush or rinse it with running water.

The coffee grinder allows you to adjust the degree of grinding: a convenient rotary lever is located on the side of the body and provides 17 settings from ultra-fine to coarse. There is an optimal option for different coffee makers (from Turks and “horn” to geyser and drip models). The proposed variety of adjustments will allow you to experiment with the taste of the drink within the same preparation technique.

The amount of ground coffee can also be conveniently adjusted in the Cecotec SteelMill 2000 Adjust, as there is a dispenser for up to 12 cups.

The power of 150 W allows you to grind really quickly. This is partly what compensates for the short permissible time of continuous operation. According to the instructions, after a minute of grinding, you need a pause for at least the same amount of time, and after the second minute cycle, an even longer break so that the coffee grinder cools down. Otherwise, the Cecotec SteelMill 2000 Adjust is a highly customizable and stylish device for those who want to drink coffee at home “like in a coffee shop.”

Timer + bean filling level indication for 2 – 12 cups, retractable wire, can be used for grinding nuts, spices, herbs.
Knife grinding system, short continuous operation time.

The Sencor brand coffee grinder works quickly (thanks to a 200-watt motor) and is almost automatic. You just need to set the degree of grinding (a rotary lever is offered for smooth selection from fine (Fine) to coarse (Coarse)) and set the timer to the desired number of cups from 2 to 12 (respectively from 10 to 60 grams of ground coffee).

And instead of a full-fledged dispenser, the compartment itself has notches that indicate the filling level. For example, we set the timer slider to four and poured beans into the container to the level of 4 cups.

Sencor SCG 3550SS is not very bulky (dimensions 216x135x100 mm), so it has a place even in a small kitchen. The removable bowl ensures ease of use. Among other ergonomic features, it is worth highlighting the protective mechanism (the model will not turn on if you do not close the compartment with beans with a transparent lid), non-slip feet and wire winding, like a vacuum cleaner.

Sencor SCG 3550SS is a knife grinder, that is, the main working element here is a double knife with titanium blades. They claim high strength, durability and improved grinding quality compared to analogues. They are also ready to work not only with coffee, but also with nuts, spices, herbs, and grinding other food products.

The disadvantages include noise (up to 80 dB), and the disadvantages are the knife grinding system, which is inferior to millstones. The beans are actually chopped rather than ground, which affects the quality of extraction (i.e. taste) of the coffee. True, not everyone will feel the difference. Another drawback is the short time of continuous operation: after 60 seconds a pause of about 10 minutes is needed. Although at light loads this will not be a problem.

The Sencor SCG 3550SS is an interesting choice for undemanding coffee fans and those interested in more than just a coffee grinder, but a more versatile kitchen assistant.

Excellent grinding of grains, millstone grinding system, illuminated “Start” button, flexible adjustment of grinding degree and number of servings, high build quality.
The beans occasionally get stuck during grinding, when the bottom container is taken out, the remains of ground coffee spill out, and there is no compartment for the power cord.

The German brand Krups made a name for itself in the production of coffee machines and coffee makers. And to load them with freshly ground coffee, its range of products includes several good coffee grinders, one of which is the Krups GVX2 burr type model.

The model is enclosed in a high-quality plastic case, in which two removable transparent containers stand out: the upper container is designed to load coffee beans with a total weight of up to 200 g, and the lower container serves as a container for storing ground coffee. It holds up to 125 g of ready-to-use mixture.

Using the knob on the right wall of the device, you can adjust the degree of grinding of the grains - the user has a choice of 17 grinding levels. A mechanical dispenser on the front panel of the coffee grinder allows you to select the required amount of coffee (from 2 to 12 cups). The consumption of coarse ground coffee per cup will be about 12 g, medium - 10 g and fine - 7 g.

Many coffee grinder owners blame several shortcomings in the design of the model. Firstly, when you take out the container with the finished mixture, some of the ground coffee inevitably spills onto the table (from the coffee supply hole from the millstones). Secondly, for some reason the German engineers did not provide a place to store the power cord. Finally, thirdly, when the upper container is fully loaded, coffee beans sometimes get stuck in front of the millstones, which can be cured by slightly shaking the coffee grinder body.

Minor defects do not affect the quality of coffee grinding - the Krups GVX2 copes with its main responsibilities better than ever. She manages to easily and quickly grind beans to the required degree of grinding, depending on where you plan to brew coffee: in a drip or carob coffee maker, or in a Turk.

Flexible adjustment of the degree of grinding and number of servings, illuminated “Start” button, compartment for the power cord, high degree of operational safety.
Not the finest grind in the minimum position of the regulator.

For sure, the Italians know a lot about good coffee, the key to which is the correct grinding of the beans. The De'Londhi KG 79 burr type coffee grinder, originally from the Apennine Peninsula, helps you obtain ground coffee with a uniform structure.

The model is housed in a black rectangular case. The base of the “body” of the coffee grinder is metal, while the transparent containers for beans and ground coffee are made of plastic. The capacity of each pallet is 120 g. By the way, the device starts up only when the containers are installed in the “seats”. If they are absent, the security system blocks the movement of the tandem of metal discs that grind the coffee into a uniform consistency.

There are only two “levers” for controlling the coffee grinder: the regulator on the front panel allows you to select the number of servings at the output (from 2 to 12 cups), and the “twist” on the left side of the case is used to set the desired degree of grinding. It is extremely important for obtaining a drink of a certain taste and strength. For example, coarse grinds work well for making coffee in drip coffee makers, while fine grinds are an excellent option for espresso machines.

In reviews of the model, users often blame the grains for not grinding finely enough in the minimum position of the side adjuster. The problem is eliminated with minor modifications to the millstones in order to narrow the gap between them in the working position. But with the container for whole grains, the Italian engineers who developed the device acted wisely - it is covered with a transparent lid on top to prevent the aroma from eroding and the raw material from absorbing excess moisture. An additional plus in the coffee grinder is a compartment for the power cord, which allows you to organize neat cable management on the kitchen countertop.
