1. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster
- Release Date: June 5, 2025
- Genre: Japanese role-playing game (JRPG)
- Metacritic Score: 84
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster is an updated version of the classic Japanese role-playing game from Square Enix, originally released on the Nintendo 3DS. The game transports players to the magical world of Luxendarc, where four elemental crystals are shrouded in darkness, and a team of heroes embarks on a dangerous journey to restore balance.
The gameplay is based on turn-based battles with unique Brave and Default mechanics, allowing players to accumulate or spend turns for tactical advantage. Complementing the system is deep character development through a flexible job system, giving scope for experimentation and building unique battle builds.
In the HD remaster, the game has received updated graphics, improved visual design of locations, and a couple of new mini-games utilizing Switch 2's capabilities, including cursor control implemented via the Joy-Con gyroscope. Despite minimal content changes, Bravely Default remains a bright representative of the JRPG genre—with a well-thought-out combat system, a memorable world, and an unexpectedly deep storyline.
2. Hogwarts Legacy
- Release Date: February 7, 2023
- Genre: action-RPG
- Metacritic Score: 84
Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch 2 is a reimagined magical experience that fully reveals the potential of the game thanks to the capabilities of the new console. While the project barely "survived" on the first Switch, suffering from low resolution, long loads, and FPS drops, Switch 2 dramatically changes the situation.
Now the game runs stably, with clear graphics, faster location transitions, and significantly improved overall performance. It's especially nice that these improvements are available in both handheld and TV mode, making Switch 2 a full-fledged platform for large RPG adventures.
Developers clearly took past shortcomings into account: now you can easily change skills, take beautiful screenshots in photo mode, and the annoying PS5 exclusive is a thing of the past. Even the controls have been updated—a mode where Joy-Con works like a mouse has appeared.
Now it's truly a comfortable game for portable format with which you can plunge back into the magic of Hogwarts whether on the road or at home.

5. DELTARUNE
- Release Date: June 5, 2025
- Genre: Japanese role-playing game (JRPG)
- Metacritic Score: 86

The main characters, schoolchildren Kris and Susie, accidentally end up in a parallel world and become part of an ancient prophecy. Alongside a mysterious ally, Ralsei, the heroes aim to restore balance between light and dark by sealing sources of power—the Dark Fountains.
The gameplay includes classic turn-based attacks and dynamic bullet hell episodes (situations where players must maneuver through streams of enemy attacks), along with the option to resolve conflicts non-violently. Deltarune stands out with charismatic characters, an unusual sense of humor, numerous plot twists, and a memorable soundtrack. The third chapter introduces mini-games, adding variety to the gameplay. Simple yet stylish graphics blend seamlessly with the overall atmosphere.

It also allows save transfers from the first-generation Nintendo Switch. Currently, the edition includes four out of seven chapters, with the final ones to be released as free updates.

7. Mario Kart World
- Release Date: June 5, 2025
- Genre: racing, arcade
- Metacritic Score: 86
After a long break, the Mario Kart series has received a truly fresh release—Mario Kart World, created specifically for Nintendo Switch 2. The new game combines the familiar arcade dynamic with a completely open world, where tracks are connected into a single map without loading screens. For the first time in the franchise's history, up to 24 racers can participate at the start, and between races in the Grand Prix, players now need to move along high-speed highways.
Players have at their disposal 30 tracks, including both brand new locations and spectacular reimaginings of iconic levels. The revamped Rainbow Road deserves special mention, already being called the most spectacular in the series' history. Gameplay is enhanced with parkour elements: wall sliding, rail tricks, and boost jumps. Among the new modes is Knockout Tour, inspired by the battle royale format.
Developers emphasize local multiplayer, vibrant visual style, and rich musical accompaniment. Despite controversial decisions in the character unlock system and not the most convenient online interface, Mario Kart World confidently launches as a new chapter in the series' development and reveals Switch 2's technical potential—with the prospect of extensive updates in the future.
8. Donkey Kong Bananza
- Release Date: July 17, 2025

A vibrant return of the iconic ape in a 3D platforming format with the scale of Super Mario Odyssey but with its own character. Players will encounter destructible levels, a well-thought-out exploration system, amusing transformations (like an ostrich or zebra), original puzzles, and musical inserts featuring Pauline. Each underground "layer" offers unique mechanics—from surfing on land chunks to growing paths in real-time.
The game showcases Switch 2's technical capabilities: smooth visuals at 60 fps, detailed animations, and rich sound. Donkey Kong Bananza combines fun action, platforming, creative destruction, and subtle humor—and is already claiming the title of one of the console's main exclusives.
9. Split Fiction
- Release Date: March 5, 2025
- Genre: adventure action with a linear storyline
- Metacritic Score: 91
Split Fiction for Nintendo Switch 2 is a colorful cooperative adventure where imagination knows no bounds. Two budding authors, Mio and Zoey, find themselves trapped in a machine that steals their ideas and must navigate through fictional worlds to regain control over their stories. The game combines elements of platforming, action, and parodic narrative, offering players the chance to explore fantastic and sci-fi locations: from a cyberpunk city to a village inhabited by farting pigs.
Thanks to the "two-on-one-screen" style, Switch 2 becomes the perfect platform for Split Fiction—especially in tabletop mode. The game supports local and online co-op (including cross-play and Friend’s Pass), and delights with a variety of gameplay situations: 2D platforming, aerial battles, racing, quests, and absurd mini-games.
Split Fiction doesn't claim technological perfection—on Switch 2, you can see simplified graphics and occasional frame drops. But the lively art direction, creative level design, and excellent "chemistry" between characters make it a bright representative of modern co-op games with soul.
10. The Legend of Zelda
- Release Date: June 5, 2025
- Genre: open-world, action
- Metacritic Score: 96
With the release of Nintendo Switch 2, the iconic The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have taken on a new life—both audibly and visually. These games are not merely adapted for the new console; they feel fully realized, as intended by the developers. Supporting 4K, stable 60 frames per second, HDR, and almost instantaneous loading, they transform every adventure into a genuinely smooth and captivating experience.
Breath of the Wild—the game that began the era of the first Switch—now has a second wind. The open world of Hyrule looks sharper, brighter, and more vibrant. Exploring forests, mountains, and deserts is even more enjoyable thanks to the game's high stability and performance.
Tears of the Kingdom, in turn, has revealed its full scale. Flights between sky islands and the Depths underground now occur without loads and lags. The use of Zonai abilities and the construction of flying devices are as smooth as possible, while HDR highlights the contrasts of light and shadow, especially in dark locations.
For Nintendo Switch 2, these two games are not just enhanced versions but true flagships. They demonstrate what the new system is capable of: both in terms of performance and interaction with the mobile Nintendo app, which adds convenient features like voice navigation, audio diaries, and even item and building exchanges via QR codes.
Zelda and Switch 2 are the perfect tandem. They are not just games but a living symbol of Nintendo. They embody the company's philosophy: freedom, creativity, magic, and adventure. These are exactly the kinds of projects that associate the Nintendo brand with players around the world—and precisely what makes Switch 2 a console where you want to stay for a long time.
