In this table, you can compare the technical characteristics of the processors from the review. You can independently choose the best model in the catalog of processors.

Very low cost, low power consumption and heating.
Only two processor cores.

Intel Celeron Kaby Lake G3930 BOX

After moving from Skylake architecture to Kaby Lake, the Celeron family remains the last dual-core Intel processors, the most affordable representative of which is the G3930 model that costs less than $40. Moreover, for this amount you also get a simple cooler, which, however, is enough to cool such a low-power processor (the declared heat dissipation is 51 W, but the real one is about half as much).

In addition to two processor cores with a frequency of 2.9 GHz, the G3930 chip also has an Intel HD 610 graphics core. Its performance is identical to the Intel HD 510 from Skylake processors and is insufficient for games in 2015-2017. But less demanding multiplayer games WoT, CSGO and Dota 2, as well as AAA hits from previous years, can be played at least on low graphics settings.

Even the installation of a discrete video card in pair with the Celeron G3930 does not really save the situation with games - on two processor cores, the new items either do not start at all, or they slow down a lot. As a result, the G3930 can be recommended only for the simplest office tasks and watching movies. Thanks to the Intel Quick Sync hardware video decoder, even 4K video with the cutting-edge x265 codec plays smoothly.

Four virtual cores, low cost.
There are no significant shortcomings.

Intel Pentium Kaby Lake G4560 BOX Price from 3 043 up to 3 049 ₴ →

Perhaps it is the Pentium family that has undergone the greatest changes among all Kaby Lake processors. Unlike the old Pentium Skylake, which were dual-core and differed from the Celeron only in a slightly higher frequency and cache size, the new Pentium Kaby Lake received support for Hyper-Threading technology and became four-threaded, like the Core i3. The youngest and cheapest Pentium G4560 costs just $70 and is now the starting point for building an entry-level gaming PC.

The integrated graphics accelerator of the Pentium G4560 is the same as that of the Celeron - Intel HD 610 - you won't be able to play new games on it. But if you add a discrete graphics card, the situation changes dramatically - the processor can easily cope with medium graphics settings even in the newest games. For high settings, four virtual cores are not enough - you definitely need four physical cores.

Even if you don't plan to play on a PC, we still strongly recommend choosing a four-thread Pentium G4560 over a dual-core Celeron. Multithreaded and, as a result, demanding on the number of processor cores, even seemingly simple applications are now: web browsers, spreadsheet editors, and database management systems.

Four virtual cores, manual overclocking, powerful integrated graphics.
Overpriced.

Intel Core i3 Kaby Lake i3-7350K BOX

The release of four-thread Pentium Kaby Lake processors called into question the feasibility of buying a Core i3, even with a more powerful Intel HD 630 graphics core. , as a result, the possibility of manually increasing the frequency.

To overclock the Core i3-7350K, you will need an Intel Z270 or Z170 chipset motherboard (subject to a BIOS update). Unlike the Core i5 and i7 Kaby Lake with the “K” index, the i3-7350K chip does not take the 5 GHz mark, but it works absolutely stably at a frequency of 4.8-4.9 GHz (the nominal frequency is 4.2 GHz).

But the trouble is that even after overclocking in CPU-intensive games like GTA V and Watch Dogs 2, the quad-core Core i3-7350K loses to true quad-core Core i5s. If we compare the 7350K with Pentium Kaby Lake, then the overpayment is almost three times. As a result, this chip will be of interest, perhaps only to computer enthusiasts who cannot imagine their lives without overclocking.

Four physical cores, Turbo Boost, powerful integrated graphics.
There are no significant shortcomings.

Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake i5-7400 BOX

Many people mistakenly consider the Core i5-7400 a weak processor, complaining about its low nominal frequency - only 3 GHz. The next i5-7500 chip in the lineup operates at a frequency of 3.4 GHz, which is significantly higher (plus 400 MHz). But it is more correct to compare not the nominal frequency of processors, but the Turbo Boost frequency for all four cores. For the 7400 it is 3.4 GHz, and for the 7500 it is 3.6 GHz. The advantage of 200 MHz is clearly not worth the overpayment, and the Core i5-7400 is the best choice for your money.

The integrated Intel HD 630 graphics accelerator has the same 24 micro-cores as the old HD 530, which delivered a reasonable 30 FPS in GTA V, Fallout 4 and Battlefield 1, albeit at 720p with low graphics settings. The transition from DDR4-2133 MHz RAM to a slightly faster 2400 MHz, which is used as video memory in the case of integrated graphics, adds an additional 3-5 FPS.

Best of all, the Core i5-7400 is suitable for building a gaming PC with a GeForce GTX 1070-level video card, the potential of which even an overclocked Core i3 does not reveal. However, even if you buy a simpler video card for the first time, still do not be stingy with the i5-7400 so that in the event of a future PC upgrade you do not have to think about replacing the processor.

Eight virtual cores, auto overclocking and optional manual overclocking, powerful integrated graphics.
There are no significant shortcomings.

Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake i7-7700K BOX

The flagship processor of Kaby Lake - Core i7-7700K - brought not so many innovations, and in some ways even turned out to be simpler than its predecessor - 6700K. And oddly enough, these simplifications have benefited the 7700K. First of all, we are talking about the layout of transistors inside the processor chip - it has become less dense, more like Haswell than Skylake. This made it possible to reduce leakage currents inside the crystal and, thereby, to increase the overclocking potential.

So, on brand new Z270 motherboards, the 7700K chip is guaranteed to accelerate to 5 GHz, and the most successful specimens even take the mark of 5.1-5.2 GHz. The result is simply excellent compared to the 6700K, which was only overclocked to 4.6-4.7 GHz. Extra half a gigahertz is not lying on the road.

As a result, we get the fastest processor for the Intel LGA1151 popular platform at the moment. Of course, you should not change the already existing i7-6700K, but if you are building a new gaming PC with one or two GeForce GTX 1080, then the 7700K is definitely your choice. Separate twelve-thread LGA2011-v3 processors are still designed more for professional video editing than for games, and cost radically different money.
