In 2021, Amazon introduced the fourth-generation smart speaker Echo Dot gen4. Like previous models, it offers deep integration with Amazon's smart home services, but is larger, has a spherical design and better sound. LED lighting and a display with a clock and an alarm that can be seen through the grill effectively complement the model, which is offered in white, blue and dark gray.

The Amazon Echo Dot gen4 acoustic architecture delivers loud, omnidirectional music with clear vocals and balanced lows. The sound can be enhanced by connecting the speaker to more powerful speaker systems via Bluetooth, and by connecting to Wi-Fi, listen to Internet radio or stream music from all available online services. Another signature feature of Echo Dot is the Amazon Alexa assistant, which can perform many tasks using voice commands - from managing smart home systems to finding your favorite song or reminding you of an important call. The smart speaker is still intended only for home use, it does not have a built-in battery, it is powered only from the mains.
