Asus TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition 2023 FA617NS

A specialized modification of the popular TUF Dash gaming laptops, co-designed with AMD. When compared with conventional TUF Gaming models, numerous differences immediately catch the eye. In particular, the display diagonal has grown from 15.3 to 16 inches. The overall quality has improved. Depending on the configuration, the screen displays an image in Full HD or QHD resolution, the refresh rate is in the range from 144 to 240 Hz, and the response time is either 3 ms or 7 ms.

In both versions, sRGB color gamut coverage reaches 100%, and AMD FreeSync technology is supported on board. The TUF Advantage Edition case has a more modern and sleek look, reminiscent of the TUF Dash series. Despite the increased screen diagonal, the case has not practically increased - the laptop weighs 2.2 kg with a thickness of 22 mm. As before, the case is considered shockproof and complies with the MIL-STD-810 standard.

Asus designers decided to abandon the branded yellow decorative inserts, which makes the laptop look stricter. As a filling in the TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition, the AMD-Radeon platform is used, consisting of a 16-thread Ryzen 7 processor (Rembrandt R family, Zen 3+ architecture) and a Radeon 7000-series video card of the RX 7600S level. The use of AMD graphics and chips allows support for technologies such as Smart Access Memory, SmartShift and Smart Access Graphics.

The processor and video card are complemented by an array of DDR5 RAM overclocked to 4800 MHz (volume from 16 to 32 GB) and a reactive M.2 SSD drive operating on the PCI-E 4.0 bus. Overall, this is a fairly powerful and modern gaming machine that is fully ready for the games of the future with next generation graphics. Among the interface connectors, a pair of USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, a pair of USB C 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1 and a gigabit LAN port are announced. One of the features of the laptop is a pretty smart audio system with 4 speakers and support for Dolby Atmos and a long battery life in the region of 12-13 hours. The battery supports USB C power and fast charging (50% in 30 minutes).
