Wireless engraver to replace the usual Dremel network
The manufacturer claims that the Dremel 8220-2 / 45 cordless engraver is as powerful as the network models of the same brand. It has a wide range of operating speeds (5000 - 35000 rpm) with continuously adjustable speed, which allows you to perform a variety of tasks: from low-speed grinding to high-performance cutting that requires maximum blade speed. The tool is also equipped with built-in electronics, which provides a smooth start of the motor and protects the motor from overload in case of tool jamming.
Work fast, don't waste time
One of the most interesting features of this engraver, which distinguishes Dremel products from competitors, is the EZ Twist keyless tool change system. It is implemented in the form of a cap that acts as a key for tightening and releasing the collet nut. That is, you do not need a separate key, as with other engravers. You simply twist the cap effortlessly with your fingers, change the tooling, and tighten it again by hand. This allows you to quickly switch from one type of work to another. And the manufacturer has taken care of the fact that you are ready to perform a wide variety of tasks. This engraver comes with a case, in which, in addition to a 2 Ah battery and a charger, there is a large set of accessories. It includes two attachments (additional handle and sanding platform), as well as almost every conceivable type of equipment for engravers. The case contains: grinding rings, grinding and polishing wheels, cutting discs, grinding stones, an engraving cutter, a wire brush, a drill and a couple of small burs, various holders and even a jar of branded polishing paste. The collet with a diameter of 3.2 mm, which comes with the tool, allows you to use not only "native" accessories. It also provides compatibility with cheaper bits from other manufacturers (and you can buy them at almost any online tool store).
Does the Dremel really have no flaws at all?
Dremel multi-tools are the "elite" among engravers. No wonder the name of this company has become a household name, and all hand drills are now called "dremels". But even such a “mastodon” has strange design solutions that suit only budget “no-names” with Chinese ancestry. It's about the backlight in this model. It is implemented as a separate module that can be installed on the engraver or removed - this is quite convenient. But to power the backlight unit, it’s not the tool’s own battery that is used, but two “coin” batteries (CR1025) – you can’t call this convenient. However, such a trifle should not become an obstacle for those who want to buy a cool cordless engraver from a leading manufacturer in this segment of the power tool market.
