Smart or classic watches: What to choose? The main differences between a traditional and smart watches

Smart watches and fitness trackers: what's the difference? We understand the distinctive features of popular wearable gadgets - smart watches and fitness trackers
I don’t like to carry my favorite mechanical watch on hikes, especially in the mountains. And this model is just specially designed for such leisure. Of course, she will please the military no less, and I am neither cold nor hot from her stealth in the infrared range. However, GPS-navigation and work with routes is on top here. I rate the exterior design as 10 out of 10. Laconic, functional and somewhat brutal. On the male hand look very convincing. The case is made of impact-resistant plastic and metal, completely waterproof, you can swim, dive to a depth of 50 m, it is also not afraid of dust and dirt. Sapphire glass (!). The screen is simple transreflective, with a resolution of only 70 by 70 pixels. But on the other hand, it is read always and everywhere, with any external lighting or without it at all, with backlight. Traditionally for Garmin, the strength is GPS-navigation and navigation in general. There are different modes of coordinate recording frequency. This is not so important for walking routes, but it saves battery power. The battery, by the way, is quite capacious. Without GPS and with occasional synchronization with a smartphone, the watch can live on a single charge for 20-30 days. If you use the GPS UltraTac mode, which provides for recording coordinates every 60 seconds, you can count on 35-40 hours of autonomy. In any case, you can charge in the field from a regular power bank. In addition, the watch has an altimeter, accelerometer, thermometer and a whole mountain of additional functions, including a full set of features for fitness, running and multisport. Buying such an expensive thing, you expect that it can retain its appearance for as long as possible. But then, after three months, the paint on the screws in the ears and the back cover of the case began to peel off. The case is resistant to impacts, but it is scratched and this does not decorate it either. |
