Affordable and well-balanced laptops from Huawei are designed with ergonomics, mobility and advanced smartphone interaction in mind. One of the features of the series is the thin side bezels around the display and keyboard, thanks to which the company's designers were able to fit a 16-inch display into the body of a standard 15-inch laptop. The device weighs 1.7 kg, the thickness of the aluminium body is 18 mm, which automatically elevates it to a cohort of thin and light laptops. Such a device will appeal to people who often travel to the office with their hardware or work a lot on the road, but do not want to pay extra for the advanced features of a conditional MacBook Air / Pro. The Huawei MateBook D 16 laptops are based on the Intel Alder Lake platform with Core i5 / i7 processors, a single RAM module (8 or 16 GB), an integrated Iris Xe graphics card and a fast NVMe SSD with a capacity of up to 512 GB. The manufacturer assigns for this series the role of an affordable tool for work and study, so there is no need to expect any advanced technical solutions here. Rather, it is about increasing comfort and improving ergonomics. The membrane keyboard has been adapted for continuous typing using a 1.5 mm depression mechanism. The 16-inch IPS display is equipped with built-in filters to reduce eye strain (TÜV Rheinland). And webcam software has built-in AI filters to improve the image and sound transmission. In addition, the device was equipped with a modern communication module with Wi-Fi 6, a fingerprint scanner, fast charging and modern multifunctional USB C connectors. Plus, Huawei added interesting features for working with a smartphone, such as remote unlocking, cloud file storage and projector functions.
