MSI MAX motherboards support Ryzen Matisse processors out of the box

2019 mid-range compact microATX motherboard with AMD AM4 processor socket. A good choice for users looking for a solid base for a versatile home PC, entry-level base station, or powerful all-in-one office computer. The board is based on the 2018 B450 chipset and supports all AMD processors with Zen and Zen2 microarchitecture. Provides full compatibility with any 3-generation 2-, 4-, 6-, 8-, 12-, 16-core AMD Ryzen 3/5/7/9 processors (Matisse/Pinnacle Ridge/Summit Ridge cores), APUs with integrated Radeon Vega graphics (Raven Ridge/Picasso) and low-cost Athlon Zen (Raven Ridge).

For stable operation with multi-core processors, MSI B450M-A PRO MAX motherboard is equipped with a 5-phase CPU power subsystem based on high-quality DrMOS components. With the ability to install two double-sided DDR4 modules, the board supports up to 32 GB of RAM at a clock speed of up to 4133 Hz. Such an impressive array will allow you to cope with any domestic, typical office and most professional tasks. For fast processing of large volumes of traffic with low latency, there is a Realtek RTL8111H network controller, and a full-fledged M.2 port makes it possible to install a high-speed SSD drive. There are two interface ports (HDMI, DVI-D) for displaying images from the video core built into the processor.

I do not recommend, rather take b550 with vram cooling
 5 July 2023
I bought this motherboard in 2019. Back then, I wasn't thinking about upgrading the processor, RAM, or anything else. Unfortunately, it can't overclock the CPU to any frequency or even change the voltage (I wanted to reduce the processor temperature through undervolting, but the motherboard didn't allow it). And now it's 2023, and I'm considering replacing the processor with a 6/8 core one, but the motherboard only has 5 phases, so it's scary to install something like the 5600 on this motherboard. (But some people are running this processor according to the official website)

Also, when I wanted to compare the MSI A320M A Pro with this motherboard – 0 differences. Absolutely none! The same number of power phases, CPU power supply, and much more.

Why release such a poor motherboard that it's a copy of the MSI A320M-A PRO?
Price: I got it super cheap
Motherboard launch with Ryzen 3: You can simply install, for example, a Ryzen 3200g processor (the same as mine) and not worry about updating the BIOS.
Upgrade possibility: there simply isn't any. For example, you cannot install 4 RAM sticks, Ryzen 5 series.
Cooling of the motherboard and other components: also absent. There's not even a plate under the power phases and NVMe SSD.
Vram temperature - it's really bothering me. When I play something, the vram has a VERY high temperature.
Chipset. What's the point of having a B chipset here, if, for example, the processor can't be overclocked?

I'm quite satisfied, but the feeder is a little scary
 30 March 2021
Well, this is one of those cases when overpaying for a B chipset does not make much sense, since overclocking a processor with such a power supply is a dubious matter.
Price, I managed to overclock the memory well here (3600MHZ), the motherboard sets up resistances quite well for peer-to-peer memory.
The power supply is rather weak, the need for either a collective farm of radiators, or downvolting by offset (you can still lock the voltage)
