The third scooter in my personal use after 2 Xiaomi models, this model finally met my needs in terms of range, plus decent tubeless tires which can be punctured but are much harder to do so than in "tubed" models, with a large comfortable deck for the feet. I had to make a few modifications: replace the bearings in the front wheel after the winter, install support for the rear fender. Rigidity of the design, clearly thought out assembly in large quantities (inclusion of the engineer's holes), availability of liquid charging (bought next to the other product) The suspension is limited, the car is not suitable for everyone, I would like to see turn indicators on Russian roads, little engineering children (the weakness of the front wheel bearings and the nuances with the rear fender) ![]() |
I have owned this scooter for 2 years and 3 months, and I ride it to work every day for 6 km, a bit less for work-related errands, and then back. I've covered over 8000 km. During this time, I haven’t changed its tires, just inflate them roughly once a month. I ride it year-round except on days with ice or heavy snow. Three axles broke in the folding joint, but this doesn't mean losing the handlebars, so everything is fine with safety. I replaced them with reinforced ones, and there are no more issues. I think if you ride on normal roads, even stock ones will last forever. In the last 3000 km or so, I’ve had no issues with it, just change the front bearings once a year, but that's because I do it annually. Those who ride only in good weather can go 4000 km on them without problems (there are such people in the Telegram chat). I flashed my G30 with 6MK, now it goes 30 km/h, but by GPS it’s 28 km/h, and I can say this speed is quite enough because while heading to work, you still have to stop at traffic lights and navigate around pedestrians. But for experimentation, I flashed it to the max speed (went 45 km/h on a straight), still couldn’t get to work faster, so better slow and steady)) But that’s just my experience, of course, some have places where they can speed up, so don’t think scooters are good or bad, to each their own! The best balance of features for a 19.3 kg scooter, reliable and sealed electronics, a battery that no user of this scooter has even thought about catching fire, good traction for the g30 model (with 6MK), climbs all the hills in my city (Vinnytsia), water is absolutely not a problem (except for the bearings in the front wheel, but that's a consumable), excellent durability of the steering (an important factor since a breakage can cause injury). Scooters with less weight will likely be inferior in reliability. 1. There is no suspension, and it hits the hands quite hard if you ride on bad asphalt, which is why I installed a Chinese spring fork. With it, everything is great, and the problem with low clearance is gone, now it’s sufficient everywhere. 2. There is no support for the rear fender, which is why it broke off at about 700 km. 3. There are no seals on the front wheel, which is not critical for the right bearing since it is covered by the drum brake, but it is critical for the left one as it is exposed to water and dirt. It lasted for 600 km. 4. The bell is flimsy and inconvenient, making some extra noise, but it's not critical (just a minor gripe of mine). 5. Some users experience connectors melting, which connect the controller and motor controller due to extended load, heavy weight, or a combination of both. However, I weigh 60 kg, don't ride for more than 30 minutes, and after riding 2500 km, I had no issues, but I replaced them just in case. 6. There is a defect in the built-in charger, and I encountered it. It stopped charging through the power cord at about 3000 km (some others had it fail before even reaching 1000 km, experiences vary). Nevertheless, I wanted to remove it anyway since I prefer low weight, and this charger weighs 660 grams. I bought a quick charger of 5A, and it’s perfect, the built-in is 2.9A. ![]() |
There are some flaws, but everything is fixable. You need to immediately replace the stock bearings with quality ones. That's the main issue. The support for the rear wing. That's it. Excellent mid-priced urban SUV. No particular issues. Not for wimps, almost 20 kilos. ![]() |
Rugged and reliable
The model of the Ninebot by Segway brand was originally created for kicksharing services that specialize in short-term rental of scooters. And such actively operated vehicles traditionally have high requirements for build quality and reliability. To confirm the KickScooter Max G30 has an aircraft-grade aluminium frame, a solid and wide deck, good IPX5 water protection, which allows you to cope with various bad weather.
The electric scooter also has large 10-inch wheels, ready for various urban terrain. True, due to the location of the battery under the deck, the clearance is not very large (about 8 cm): it is enough for speed bumps, but it is not recommended to jump onto curbs.
Powerful and autonomous
The Ninebot KickScooter Max G30 is powered by a powerful 350W motor. The claimed maximum load is 100 kg, and the tilt angle is 15 degrees. But, as noted by reviews and tests, in fact, the model is ready for obviously big tests.
The engine is powered by a 15 Ah battery. Its passport power reserve reaches 65 km. Therefore, even under adverse conditions (uphill driving, headwind, low air temperature and high-speed driving), the model consistently overcomes 40+ km, that is, 2 times more than the main competitors.
Other Features
The scooter has a speed of up to 25 km/h (three driving modes are available from economical to high-speed). If you want a faster model, then you should take a closer look at the KickScooter Max G30P version. Plus, it's possible to squeeze more drive out of the G30 with the help of fan-made firmware.
Other features include the presence of a convenient display, energy recovery functions, the possibility of additional settings in a proprietary application (advanced statistics, cruise control activation, etc.). The foldable design will simplify operation, but due to the large weight (18.7 kg), even skidding up the stairs into the entrance can be a test. But not for tough riders who will definitely like the Ninebot KickScooter Max G30, especially if you need a “long-playing” personal electric vehicle with increased reliability.
