Such a modern sleeping bag cannot but surprise the inexperienced owner. I bought it for work. I sometimes have to spend the night in unheated rooms during the cold season, and such a sleeping bag + a couple of rugs turned out to be very suitable equipment for such feats. If you dress adequately, you can sleep in it down to -8…-10 degrees Celsius. However, without good thermal underwear, it is suitable for -3…-5, not colder. What's surprising is that, with such generally good specifications, this sleeping bag weighs only one and a half kilograms and packs so compactly (a cylinder with a diameter of 20 cm and a length of 40 cm) that I initially couldn't believe such a thing was possible. This is all thanks to modern fabrics and insulation materials. On the outside, it's nylon, meaning it is covered with a high-strength synthetic fabric that has been treated with some water-repellent compound. The inner lining is also synthetic but vaguely resembles cotton and feels more pleasant against the body. The secret of insulation is hidden between the outer and inner lining. It is "hidden" in a two-layer shell made of a microfiber material called "hollowcore." It's worth adding that the sleeping bag has the right proportional dimensions, and there's enough space for the feet for me personally. The zipper is a reliable branded one with a lock to prevent accidental unfastening. Impregnation of the outer layer of fabric with a water-repellent composition lasts until the first wash. Maybe, of course, if washed with a special product for sleeping bags (250 hryvnia per jar), it would be different, but something tells me that any strong surfactant works approximately the same. So I then had to buy a separate impregnation agent to restore hydrophobicity. And yet, after washing it takes an unrealistically long time to dry, so wash it at least 4-5 days before hour X. |
