Support for the PCIe 4.0 specification delivers twice the throughput of PCIe 3.0: 16 GT/s per lane versus 8 GT/s. As a result, the drive's write throughput can reach 6200 MB / s, and when reading - 7200 MB / s, which is significantly higher than traditional SSDs and ten times faster than older and slower hard drives.
The random 4K block read rate reaches 530k IOPS, which is a pretty serious result. All this provides incredible performance, low latency and high stability needed for experienced video editors, photographers, coders, designers and gamers who often work with large amounts of data. The device is equipped with an ultra-thin graphene heatsink, which ensures efficient heat dissipation of a compact device.
An additional increase in stability is provided by the built-in thermal management mechanism, which prevents the controller from overheating when writing particularly large amounts of data. The Transcend MTE250S is a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD with high-speed PCIe 4.0 bus and a thin graphene aluminium heatsink. This carbon alloy is one of the best thermal conductors, which allows you to install SSD not only in desktop PCs, but also in laptops and PlayStation 5. The drive is also backward compatible with PCIe 3.0, but the speed will be approximately twice as slow.
The speed of the full version on 1 TB via the PCIe 4.0 bus is 7200 and 6200 MB / s for sequential reading and writing large files, respectively. Random small file processing can be up to 530,000 read/write operations per second (IOPS). The 2 and 4 terabyte versions are even faster.
