Presented in 2022, the Xiaomi brand smartwatches are a sports version of another flagship model from the brand — Watch S1. They differ from their predecessor in design: they feature a plastic case instead of metal and a silicone strap without leather inserts, suitable for swimming. Additionally, they also have a dual-band GPS module, extra sensors for measuring altitude and pressure, and the regular charging connector here is replaced with a more practical charger with magnetic attachment.
The Xiaomi Watch S1 Active smartwatches boast a touchscreen 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466x466 pixels, protective glass, and two hundred watch faces available for use. The sports focus is confirmed not only by the swimming capability (though the 5 ATM water resistance indicates that it's best to stick to pools and not engage in deep diving). Over 100 fitness modes, including professional sports like tennis, basketball, and high-intensity interval training, are claimed to be available. Advantages of the model include good battery life — up to 12 days with regular use (and up to 30 hours with GPS on). Other cool features include a built-in microphone and speaker for hands-free calling, contactless payments (Mastercard only), blood oxygen level and stress monitoring, and a women's health calendar.

Inexpensive smartwatch that can do a lot
The original Xiaomi Watch S1 smartwatch has become a real bestseller, competing with more expensive models from Samsung, Apple and Garmin. The success of the model stood on three pillars - price, convenience and advanced functionality. Only sports opportunities lagged behind, according to the logic of the developer, Mi Band fitness trackers are better suited for this. However, a year later, Xiaomi responded to the requests of users and released a sports version of Watch S1 with a silicone strap more suitable for swimming, a practical charging connector, advanced sports modes, additional sensors and dual GPS.
Colorful AMOLED screen
Otherwise, both models are practically the same. Xiaomi Watch S1 Active is equipped with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466x466 pixels with a high pixel density, making any of the hundreds of available watch faces look clear and rich. The screen is covered with protective glass. The built-in battery provides up to 30 hours of operation with GPS enabled, or up to 12 days without it. This is an excellent indicator of autonomy, even against the background of watches costing 2-3 times higher. For voice communication, a fairly good speaker and microphone are provided. The built-in NFC chip can be used for contactless payments. True, only Master Card cards are supported.

In terms of physical activity, Xiaomi Watch S1 Active can track heart rate, record bursts of stress levels, measure blood oxygen levels, count the number of steps taken, monitor sleep quality and keep a women's calendar. Like most inexpensive smartwatches, tracking is sometimes buggy, and the sensors are not accurate.
