I had one of the first YN-565EX, opted for the NIKON version. I remember buying it from Alexey at fotomeloch.ru about five years ago (or more? before the crisis) for 4 thousand. Used it on the D80, D200, and D700. Worked through about a dozen weddings from preparations/bridal ransom to fireworks. First, I used one, then I bought a Pixel battery pack for 8 batteries, the one with an indicator - it became just awesome. Never missed a moment - it was always ready to go. I shot in TTL mode, in changing lighting conditions, as well as in "M" mode - in halls with bounce flash, to avoid wasting batteries with a pre-flash. Never had a single problem the whole time. Also bought a few for some acquaintances back then - no complaints from anyone so far. One guy just had the lamp replaced under warranty at the service center - he was "bombing" kindergartens and schools like crazy, used up its resource. Mine also did about 20,000 flashes - used it for a few years without issues! Then I thought, enough already, and foolishly sold it, and bought a newer one - the YN568, which turned out to be a disappointment! Just awful - flimsy to the point of fragility, can't even be compared! And you can't connect an external block. The high-speed sync is supposedly a trump feature, a marketing gimmick, scarcely needed in practice. The plastic is of good quality, everything was securely fixed - more convenient than on the SB-800, no need to press anything. The cover was securely fixed, the heel did not "wander" in the hot shoe. There were no cases of overheating/blocking even once. Although, I didn't fire in bursts - mostly single shots. I would like to note the external additional power supply again - a very useful feature for reporting. The 568 model doesn't have this. And the batteries were almost completely used up. Of course, one of them usually drained completely before the others; in such cases, a trimmer from FIX-PRICE was helpful as a tester. SANYO batteries are definitely a hit! Now I'm going to try to find another one just like it. Quite reasonable service on Pehotnaya Street, not far from Shchukinskaya metro by tram. They check the warranty by the number on the box/manual and on the head. It doesn't matter whether it was sent from China or bought in some store. It’s a little stressful with a twist/lock, like on the old ones - but for this price tag it’s forgiven! But the new models are disappointing - the quality of the materials has become crap. use Yongnuo YN-565EX more than year |
