Wi-Fi module
— wi-Fi technology is currently used both for wireless connection to local computer networks and/or the Internet, and for direct communication of various devices with each other. For the second option, see “Wi-Fi Direct” for more details; a network connection allows you to at least use the MFP in the format of a network device in a local network — that is, control the device from any PC or other gadget (for example, a smartphone) in this network. At the same time, many Wi-Fi models do not even require a print server (a separate server for managing print) and can receive and send materials directly to a separate network device. And some advanced models even support cloud services, which allows you to receive and send materials over the Internet.Modern MFPs can use different Wi-Fi standards — most often it is Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). In most cases, you should not pay special attention to this nuance: the standards differ in speed, however, for those tasks with which this type of equipment usually works, these differences are not fundamental; and there are usually no problems with the compatibility of different standards with each other.
