By-pass/Direct

— the ability to connect the signal to the amplifier so that it goes directly (Direct) to the amplifier stages, bypassing (By-pass) all additional adjustments that may be provided in the device — bass / treble, balance, etc. This mode is standard for "clean" power amplifiers. In integrated models, it allows you to get the most pure and close to the original sound — due to the fact that additional electronic circuits are removed from the signal path, which inevitably affect its quality.
