Splitting axes
— axes, originally designed for splitting logs — including quite large and hard ones. The cleaver has a thick and massive wedge-shaped blade with a relatively short cutting edge; such a blade effectively enters between the wood fibers and "pushes" them to a great distance, allowing you to easily split the wood. In addition, most of these axes are equipped with long handles — from 70 cm or more; although there are also rather small models, about 40 cm long or even less, their key difference from universal axes is the mentioned blade shape.
