Low price, ease of use, high efficiency of work.
Does not stabilize voltage drops.

APC Back-UPS 650VA BC650-RS 650 VA APC Back-UPS 650VA is the most affordable and the only backup model in our review. It has three openings with redundancy and one without it. The functions of this power supply are: overload protection in the power grid, data line protection and interference filtering. It has an automatic fuse that does not require replacement after each operation. At the same time, it does not stabilize voltage drops, like some interactive-type models in our TOP 5. Despite the low price, the UPS is very well optimized in terms of energy saving. The maximum efficiency of operation, that is, the ratio of its output power to the power consumed from the network, is 97.8%. Only a couple percent of energy is wasted. Since APC is a backup type of UPS, it does not require a USB connection to the computer. Large indicators on the front panel show the current status of the device (mains power, battery operation, overload or battery replacement is required). In general, the device is suitable for conservatives who need a simple and inexpensive backup power source without "bells and whistles" in the form of automatic saving of information and turning off the PC. |

Low price, the most compact of the models in the review.
There is no interface for controlling from a PC.

The most inexpensive and at the same time the lightest and most compact interactive type model in our selection from one of the leaders in the production of "uninterruptible power supplies". With dimensions of 142x101x279 mm, this source weighs only 4.9 kg, but its power is not inferior to the bulkier ones (480 watts). However, due to the compactness, the user will have to limit himself to only two slots with redundancy and relatively low functionality. Among the capabilities of the FSP device are protection against short circuits and overloads, as well as an audible alarm about such problems. Automatic battery charging in the off state of the UPS and the cold start function are also supported. According to the manufacturer, the average charge time of 4-6 hours is able to restore 90% of the battery capacity of the device. Unlike most modern models, this UPS does not have a control interface, which will be appreciated only by users who do not want to waste time setting up the device. And in general, the FSP Viva 800 meets the criteria of an inexpensive device for office PCs. |

Inexpensive, PC control, neat design.
The presence of only two slots with redundancy.

The first thing that catches your eye when you open the box with this UPS is a case without bright indicators and a screen, but with metal elements in the design. Therefore, Sven Pro+ 800 will fit into the interior of any office and will not distract from work by flashing light bulbs. Although, the company also has models with a screen. The functional arsenal of this model is represented by short circuit protection, data line protection, built-in interference filter system, as well as cold start support. The battery switching time is longer than that of more expensive models (10 ms), however, the power (480 W) is at their level. Fine–tuning and control of the UPS can be carried out using special software - the source is connected to the computer via a USB interface. The presence of a fuse in the device may not suit users who have frequent problems with electricity. But on the other hand, such a fuse is more reliable compared to automation. To increase the reliability of the device, the manufacturer has also provided thermal protection of the built-in transformer. And the disadvantages of Sven Pro + 800 include the fact that the developers found a place for only two slots with redundancy at the usual size of the case. |

The highest claimed operating time among the models presented in the review, fast switching to the battery (2-4 ms), the presence of an informative display, hot battery replacement.
No serious shortcomings have been identified.
Price from 4 972 up to 6 318 ₴

Powercom Imperial IMD-825AP 825 VA Price from 4 972 up to 6 318 ₴ → Powercom Imperial IMD-825AP is the only model in our review that is equipped with a display. The screen displays information about the current operating mode of the UPS, its battery charge and the output voltage level. This is very convenient, unless, of course, the device is hidden behind the table. It also has a USB port compatible with the Smart Battery standard. That is, you can control the device on a Windows PC (starting from version XP and newer) without installing special software. Although with a proprietary utility running under Linux, more settings will be available. The device has five output ports (IEC-320 C13 standard), of which, however, only three have redundancy. And such a number of "sockets" will eliminate the need to keep a power filter in the office or home office. By the way, the UPS looks good and will fit into almost any interior. The manufacturer claims that the device can "power" a computer with a 17-inch monitor for 13 minutes. Also note the possibility of replacing the battery without disconnecting the device from the mains (other models do not have it in the article). Interruptions in our networks are not a rare phenomenon. Therefore, for many it will be useful to have a built-in voltage stabilizer that maintains a normal output voltage level. At the same time, it does not consume the battery life. Additionally, thanks to the built-in filters, the UPS provides protection of telephone, modem and network lines from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. Also note that in our selection, this model can compensate for electrical impulses with maximum energy (up to 460 J). |

Automatic voltage stabilizer, wide range of input voltage and frequency.
The cable for connecting the PC is purchased separately, there is little noise when running on battery power.

APC Back-UPS 650VA BX650CI-RS 650 VA The main feature of this UPS is the built–in automatic voltage stabilizer (on three of the four outlets), which not only keeps the devices "alive" during power surges, but also prolongs battery life. Protection against interference over telephone and computer networks is also provided. APC Back-UPS 650VA AVR fully automatically manages the battery charging process. While the self-diagnosis function will inform the user about the need to replace the battery. The time of full charging of the UPS is up to 8 hours with an effective output power of 390 watts. There is also a more powerful model in this series at 480 watts. The manufacturer guarantees one and a half minutes after the main power source is turned off, during which you will be able to save unsaved documents and prepare your PC for a normal, not emergency shutdown. Thanks to a special utility for managing the UPS, which is installed on the computer, its shutdown and data storage can be automatic. This will save the data even if you are not around when the power goes out in the house. The Back-UPS 650VA AVR has no screen. The LED indicators indicate in which mode the device is operating. The UPS additionally informs about the start of operation in emergency mode with an audible signal. A nice addition is the automatic fuse, which does not need to be changed every time after an emergency overload. |
