Excellent sound. The magneto-planars make their presence known. You can hear more than with various mass-market brands like Sony, etc. Prior to these, I had BW PX7, Beyers 990 Pro 250 ohm, and Audio-Technica ANC900. (By the way, I really liked the last ones). Out of the box, compared to the aforementioned models, Audeze doesn’t overwhelm with bass; the sound is very neutral. But all of this can be adjusted with an equalizer. There is a huge sound reserve; you can tune the headphones for most users, so you can confidently buy them without listening first, unlike how I once did with the Beyers and then used an equalizer to tone down their praised analytical specialty. With Audeze, everything is in moderation. As for comfort: they are quite comfortable with large ear pads, but I immediately ordered replacements from Wicked Cushions; they have a version with a velour cover, which I prefer. The headband is quite comfortable too, but it’s hard to adjust; Wicked Cushions also offer silicone alternatives. Generally, these are well-made, high-quality headphones that look solid with no sense of cheapness. However, they are strictly for home use and even for seated listening, as they are quite heavy. A couple of times when I moved around and bent my head, they nearly fell off. But when you sit still, everything is great. The controls are on buttons, thank goodness, as I don’t like sensors on the cups. There was one update in the utility, with presets available, which is convenient. There is no active noise cancellation, but again, I don’t really need it, and these headphones are meant for home use. I haven't tested the microphone yet, so I can’t say anything about it. The sound is great. The controls are based on physical buttons, which is a plus for me. The build quality is excellent and feels very expensive. They sit comfortably. The headband is difficult to adjust, but you do it once and forget about it. The headphones are heavy and comfortable to use while sitting. If you lean over, they might fall off. Out of the box, many might find the bass lacking, but everything can be fixed with an equalizer or presets from the utility.  dream : |
