Before purchasing, I had the opportunity to test various wide-angle lenses. The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 USM L is very good, but when using it indoors, there often isn't enough angle to frame the picture. The Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM A ("Art") softens a lot at the edges and vignettes excessively. It becomes sharp at much higher aperture values. The original "dream" Zeiss Distagon T* 21mm f/2.8 ZF (ZE) turned out to be quite dull in color, aside from losing in aperture power. The image (subjectively) is of course correct, but somewhat barren and cool. For a sharp center, you need to stop down to F4. Talking about the agility of working with such a manual lens in real "combat" conditions is redundant. So, I chose consciously and I am convinced of the correctness of my choice with every use. This lens is applicable for a much wider range of tasks than I previously thought. Reportage, architecture, landscape, even portraits - no problem. For video shooting tasks in low light - superb! The focus ring rotation is smooth, pleasant, and "meaty". I chose from the two available in the store, but both copies hit the target without front or back focus misses. It has its peculiarities when shooting. I didn't get used to it right away, but once I did, I confirmed my opinion that this is the best lens in its class for full-frame shooting. Relatively lightweight. Sharp across the field from f/1.8. Aperture-fast. Sooooo beautiful bokeh (provokes to shoot on an open hole). Geometry corrected. Virtually no chromate. Focusing speed is simply amazing. It has weather protection. Assembly - a monolith! The colors are juicy, warm, on the carcass the color preset turned to zero. Probably just the price. use Canon 24mm f/1.4L EF USM II month or more i recommend it should buy |
