On the basis of the Grunhelm GBH A-100 water heater, you can create a main or backup hot water system in an apartment, cottage or hotel room. It is designed for regular operation in domestic water supply systems (pressure up to 5 atm), and its volume is quite enough to serve the domestic needs of 3-4 people. The inner cylindrical tank of this apparatus is made by welding from low-carbon cold-rolled sheet steel and covered with a special two-layer glass-ceramic enamel, which has an increased resistance to temperature extremes. Additional protection against corrosion is provided by a replaceable magnesium anode (electrochemical protector). Temperature control is carried out by a trouble-free capillary thermostat, and for convenient control of heating there is a bimetallic thermometer.

I don’t know if I would have bought this brand or not in a normal situation, I was not familiar with it before. But since it was offered to me at a significant discount, I could not resist. Specifically, this instance had a noticeable external defect, but since I was going to hang it in the pantry, I was interested in the appearance in the very last place. But a discount of a third of the retail price could not leave anyone indifferent)) A standard, classic design water heater with regular "wet" or, more accurately, immersion heating elements. Honestly, I don't see the point in paying extra for a model with dry heating elements, because according to my repairman friend, they burn out much more often than immersion ones. However, in case of a breakdown, it's easier to replace "dry" ones, there's no arguing that. The heater here is not very powerful, only 1200 W. On one hand, this prolongs the heating time, but on the other, lower power results in less scale formation. The tank's internals are protected by enamel, but since enamel can crack over time, there is additional electrochemical protection with a sacrificial magnesium anode. So, if you replace it at least once every two years, the tank should last a long time. The thermostat is the simplest mechanical type, but in terms of reliability, it beats any electronics. There is overheat protection and a safety valve to release dangerous excess pressure. It heats up for quite a long time. To take a shower two people have to wait more than two and a half hours. And this is if the shower is economical, and for a full warm-up to 70 degrees, the waiting time stretches for almost four hours. As far as I know, these water heaters are produced at one of the Ukrainian enterprises, and alas, this is noticeable in the quality of material processing and final assembly. It’s not that everything was bad, but it’s immediately clear that this is not Slovenia or the Czech Republic ((I hope everything will be much better with reliability, in any case there is also an official one-year warranty. |
