A small half-axe was needed to cut even (or not very twisted), small and medium diameter logs for firewood. I wanted to try something more modern than the usual ax with a wooden handle. I chose this model. So far, it has chopped about 1 cube of oak, birch, alder, hornbeam. He copes well with his tasks. I will not say that it is ideal, but if you cut straight blocks with a diameter of up to 20 cm - there are no problems, it splits the first time. The ax itself has a nice wedge shape that allows it to work as a regular ax or a bit like a pickaxe to split a log without getting stuck in it. The handle dampens a significant part of the vibration and recoil, so compared to a wooden handle in this respect it is a plus. Also, at the end of the handle there is a hole by which it can be hung. It has a beautiful and modern look, the neighbors are already thinking about buying one. There is a convenient "case" for it, into which a metal part is inserted and fixed in it. Also, it provides a hole for a nail (so that you can hook it) and a handle for carrying an ax. Sometimes it is not the first time you can split a block, the ax gets stuck in it and you want to take it "on both sides" and chop it. But it is strictly forbidden to do so. Also, if the handle somehow breaks, you will not be able to install a new one. During work, the handle near the blade begins to scratch and scratch a little, so it will probably be necessary to wrap it with a little insulating tape to protect the ax from premature failure.
