If you're going to buy a pressure cooker, get one that's truly useful in every way, not just for making porridge. That's exactly what my husband and I had in mind when we chose not just an inexpensive multicooker, like most buyers do, but a multicooker-pressure cooker. It has a special valve that increases the pressure inside, significantly raising the temperature. I went through the entire manual and didn't find specific figures, but my husband says it can reach about half an atmosphere of excess pressure and a temperature of 110-112 degrees. In practice, this allows you to make a full batch of aspic in just 80-90 minutes. Yes, yes, aspic can be made more than twice as fast, and that's not all. You can also cook carrots and beets for vinaigrette very quickly, and peas and beans completely break down in just 30-40 minutes. But the biggest effect is on corn; the time difference is almost threefold. The machine has a large, well-built 1.8 mm aluminum bowl with a Teflon non-stick coating. The control system includes as many as 17 programs. Some useful ones include porridge, legumes, and separate programs for cooking chicken and pork/beef. I also use the steamer function. Importantly, this model has a removable top lid, which makes cleaning much easier. I'm currently getting the hang of "multicook," which is a mode where you can set manual settings. Teflon coating is not ceramic, it requires gentle and careful handling. I accidentally made one serious scratch already, and fortunately, it was on the upper part of the wall, so it doesn’t interfere much with cooking. But after that, I bought a good wooden spoon and use only that. The baking program works strangely, to say the least. It seems I followed the book, but the bottom turned out baked while the top and especially the inside were still raw. |
