A simple and inexpensive mower with a gasoline engine
The housing of the Tekhmann TLM-4179 lawn mower is made of plastic. It is, of course, not as durable as a metal deck, but it is not subject to corrosion. To its durability, however, there are no special claims. The plastic is quite thick and strong. Therefore, the body does not sag under the weight of the engine and does not deform when the mower travels over uneven lawns or encounters obstacles during operation. Metal axles of 155 mm plastic wheels are screwed to the chassis. There are three slots for each axle. By rearranging them from one hole to another, you can change the grass cutting height: 25, 40 or 55 mm. On the one hand, this design is not very convenient. After all, in order to change the height of the mower, you need to unscrew and fasten the four wheels one by one (using a special wrench that is included in the kit, or an end head), and this takes some time. But, on the other hand, there is simply nothing to break or fail.
Design features
An 80cc petrol engine "sits" on a plastic chassis. It is far from the most powerful, but also 2 hp. it is quite enough for the lawn mower to be able to confidently mow the grass with a metal knife (the manufacturer recommends cutting no more than 2 - 5 cm in one pass, depending on the type of vegetation and the density of the lawn). The cut stems are blown by the airflow created by the rotating knife into a 45 liter bag attached at the back. And if instead of a bag you install a special plastic plug designed for mulching plant residues, then pieces of grass will be cut and torn into tiny pieces and spilled onto the lawn as fertilizer.
Affordable price - a reason to think about buying
Tekhmann TLM-4179 is one of the most affordable lawn mowers among wheeled garden equipment equipped with gasoline engines. Despite some "budget" and a simplified design, it is well suited for lawn care in summer cottages and household plots, because it can do everything exactly the same as more expensive equipment, just a little slower.
