Хотелось бы шнурок в комплекте подлиннее. use WD Elements Portable 3.0 2.5" month or more i recommend it should buy |

Thoughtful body
External hard drives with a high-speed USB 3.0 interface remain the most popular means of storing large amounts of data that do not fit on the internal drive of a laptop or PC. One of the most interesting options among inexpensive and reliable external devices is WD Elements Portable 3.0.
The drive body is made of strong plastic, in which the front side is matte with a small edging, and the back is rougher, so it does not slip on the table surface or in your hands. Externally, the disc looks quite restrained, but not without originality. Connection to a computer is carried out using USB ports of the second and third versions.
Serious reserve
Inside the Elements Portable there is a 500 GB HDD of the company's own production with a rotation speed of 5400 rpm, 8 MB of cache and decent read and write speeds. In the Crystaldiskmark test, the drive achieved the same results of 108 MB/sec for both read and write.
WD Security Data Protection System
Among the small bonuses, it is worth highlighting the Auto Local & Cloud Backup utility, which allows you to set up data backup, including making a copy to the Dropbox cloud service. And the WD Security app allows you to use hardware encryption to protect data on the drive or simply “password-protect” it. As they say, there is no such thing as too much precaution. Also, the drive itself is initially formatted as one volume with the NTFS file system, which ensures its compatibility with operating systems of the Windows family.
It is still alive. However, I didn't use it actively, mostly as a storage: uploaded files, when needed connected it and transferred files to a tablet/another drive.
Although there were times when I downloaded movies directly onto it and rewrote often. Although my version is 2TB, I can confidently say that at least 12TB has gone through it.
Anyway, I recommend it, it's a great thing, especially for long-term storage.
But if you want something for constant work, it's better to go with an SSD.
