Without steam, grease and pungent odours: TOP 5 canopy hoods for a small kitchen
We independently test the products and technologies that we recommend.

Another weighty argument in favor of visor hoods is their relatively quiet operation. It is mainly due to low productivity, up to 550 m3/h, but which is quite enough to provide clean air in a room with an area of up to 10 m2 in a short time.
We bring to your attention the TOP 5
At this link you can get acquainted with the full list of visor hoods from our catalog.

Ventolux company is registered in Ukraine, but it places its production facilities in different countries. The ALDO 60 1M 400 hood is manufactured in Turkey, delighting users with its build quality and reliability.
The body of the model is made of metal and is offered in three colour solutions: stainless steel, white and brown. As you can see, the colours are quite popular, so the hood will fit into any interior. Having a height of 13 and a depth of only 47 cm, the unit does not focus attention on itself, and from above it still leaves enough space for mounting a hinged locker.
With rather modest dimensions and only one motor, the hood shows good performance up to 400 m3/h. In an hour, it perfectly cleanses the air from steam and odours in the kitchen area of 5-8 m2. 3 speeds allow you to adjust the power of the device without creating a lot of noise. According to the technical characteristics, the peak noise level does not exceed 51 dB (the volume of speech during an active conversation), and this is a pretty solid indicator for such a technique, although not the best.
From the factory, the hood is equipped with a grease-trapping aluminium filter. Separately, you can buy a carbon filter, but only to increase the efficiency of the device in the tap mode. In the recirculation mode, the operation of the hood is not provided by the manufacturer, although it is not prohibited.
2 incandescent lamps with a power of 40 watts each are responsible for lighting. Their light is warm, pleasant, and sufficient to illuminate the working area above and near the hood.
Simple controls focused on the front panel. 5 buttons are responsible for turning on/off, adjusting the lighting and selecting the desired speed.
For all its qualities, it costs Ventolux ALDO 60 1M 400 +/— 40 USD depends on the colour, so it is popular with many users — owners of cottages, apartments, small offices with a kitchen area.

The Spanish company Cata Electrodomesticos S.L. has been producing ventilation systems for the home and industry for 65 years. The F 2060 hood has long been a top seller, thanks to its simplicity and reliability combined with a democratic price.
The design of the model is somewhat archaic. Many will surely remember the old hoods that hung in their kitchens in the early 90s. However, who is confused by such a "rarity", they can close the hood with a cabinet.
The flat rectangular case with dimensions of 60x47x11.2 cm is offered in three colours: white, brown and Inox (stainless steel). There is a glass visor to increase the area of trapped air and as an additional protection against steam and splashes. The control buttons are located on the front panel on the right. Everything is intuitive: 3 buttons are responsible for selecting the speed, two more for on/off. motor and lighting. The latter, by the way, is weak. There is only one 40-watt incandescent lamp, which only has enough light for the stove area.
The capacity of the hood is also quite modest — 320 m3/h. For a kitchen with an area of 5-6 m2, this will be enough, but less. There's only one engine on board, so you won't get too excited. But the device works very quietly. At the 1st speed, the noise level does not exceed 40 dB (the norm for residential premises, from 7 to 23 hours), and at the third — 47 dB (slightly louder than normal speech). And this is one of the lowest rates among hoods in general.
Traditionally, the Cata F 2060 is equipped with an aluminium fat filter and works on tap. The installation of a carbon filter and operation in recirculation mode are also provided. Active filters change as they become dirty, and the painted metal mesh can be washed and used further.
Cata F 2060 is not the cheapest in the niche, its purchase will cost from $ 50 to $ 70 depending on the colour and the seller, but for a small kitchen in the "Khrushchev", in the country it is perfect, as it will work reliably, and most importantly, for a very long time — up to 10 years.
Household appliances for the kitchen of the Belarusian company Gefest have been known on the world market for more than 60 years. The principle of operation of the holding is the price availability of products without loss of productivity and external attractiveness. The BO-2601 extractor hood is a beautiful addition to a modern kitchen.
It is available in black, brown and white, so it is easy to combine with furniture of any design. The case is made of solid metal, which affects the weight, here it is considerable — 6.8 kg. During installation, this point should be taken into account.
BO-2601 is equipped with one engine, so it cannot boast of high performance. 300 m3/h at the maximum, third speed, is all it is capable of, and this is good enough for a kitchen of 5-6 m2, less. But the manufacturer offers two modes of operation: drainage and recirculation and immediately includes a carbon filter in the delivery package, and a fat mesh allows washing in the dishwasher. 2 halogen lamps with a total power of 50 watts add their piece of comfort. There is not much light, but its shade is pleasant and warm.
The controversial point is the noise. At the third speed, the hood produces 65 dB. On the second and first, the noise level drops by 20%, but here you have to choose whether it will make a lot of noise and not for long, or for a long time, but not much. We would definitely recommend the first option, because with a capacity of 150 m3/ h at the 1st speed, and even 200 at the 2nd with intensive cooking, the hood will be ineffective.
Of course, if Gefest BO-2601 wasn't so noisy, you could close your eyes to poor performance, and vice versa. On the other hand, closing our eyes to both drawbacks, we get quite an attractive appearance, and most importantly, a reliable hood from the Belarusian brothers at a very affordable price of $ 50.

The Italian company Perfelli specializes in the development of kitchen appliances: ovens, hoods, cooking surfaces. A lot of attention is paid to product design and functionality. The company's factories are dispersed around the world, in particular, the PL 611 hood is manufactured in Poland.
Having an already compact size (60x48x14 cm), the device body narrows in height to the front edge, which makes the design of the entire structure minimalistic. The model is offered in stainless steel colour, which harmoniously combines with modern kitchen interiors of modern, loft, Hi-Tech styles. The PL 611 is also available in white, black and brown colours — so there is plenty to choose from. The visor made of thick transparent glass gives the product a complete look.
The Italians did a great job on performance, which eventually allowed the hood to drive up to 550 m3 per hour through itself and this on one motor. To clean the kitchen from odours with an area of up to 10 m2 with a standard ceiling height of 2.5 m is not a problem for her. At the same time, the maximum noise level at the third speed does not exceed 52 dB. Yes, even the music that my neighbor listens to behind the wall can be heard better, you say. And you will be right.
PL 611 will also help out those who plan to use the hood in recirculation mode. However, for this you will have to buy a carbon filter and preferably several at once, since you will have to change it often.
With all the advantages, the model also has its own "Achilles heel" — 1 incandescent lamp with a power of 28 watts gives a dim light, but you can survive it.
Summing up, it remains to say that for your money, which is from $50 to $60 depending on the colour, Perfelli PL 611 is an perfect option for most kitchens of high—rise buildings. Performant, quiet, cute and inexpensive, what else do you need from a hood?

The Bosch brand is associated by many with the high quality and functionality of household appliances and tools. The hood DUL 63CC20 only confirms the prevailing idea. The model for small kitchens attracts with its strict neat design and thoughtful characteristics.
The DUL 63CC20 is available in three colours: white, brown and stainless steel. Option 4 is also possible — to hide the equipment in a hanging cabinet, although it looks quite harmoniously as a separate piece of furniture.
The hood supports three speed modes, but since it has only one engine, it cannot boast of high performance. The maximum suction capacity of 350 m3/h allows you to cope with cleaning the kitchen area up to 8-9 m². However, to cope qualitatively, without strain and remnants of especially "annoying" odours. The only thing that does not please is the noise, which increases from 56 dB to 72 dB with switching speeds (the volume of the scream). It's definitely too much for a small kitchen.
Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about. Grease filters can be washed in the dishwasher, carbon filters (not included) clean the air well in the recirculation mode, almost as well as in the discharge mode, which is often a rare phenomenon. The light from two 4-watt LED lamps is comfortable and economical, the push-button operation is intuitive and convenient.
Like all Bosch appliances, the DUL 63CC20 is not cheap ($110), but a practical and durable hood for most urban apartments. And if it were quieter, it wouldn't be worth it at all.
